This was the first song if theirs I heard in 99 when I was 13 and it really made me think it was possible for there to be such a thing as objectively "the greatest band on the planet" needless to say I was hooked, loved opeth ever since

The fact that song manages to instill such a sense of nostalgia even though I only heard it 2-3 years ago amazes me. Most nostalgic songs are songs we’ve heard when we were kids.

Yeah, not the best song to react to, IMO. Best track on the album, IMO, is Pale Horse. Naglfar's best era was with Jens Ryden on vocals : Brimstone Gate, Blades, When Autumn Storms Come, I Am Vengeance, Unleash Hell, As The Twilight Gave Birth To The Night, etc. Still, quite some gems after his leave and with Kristoffer on vocals : Way Of The Rope, A Swarm Of Plagues, Murder Manifesto, Pale Horse, etc. Big fan of them, but since Téras, a lot less :( They sound more like the generic death melodic bands ... Only my 2 cents ! Can please a lot of people, but not for me.

I found your channel looking for Infected Mushroom reactions, and I noticed you said you were more into prog metal so IM weren't really your thing. I strongly recommend giving Project 100 a listen. There's another reaction channel who are also prog metal heads and they compared it to Dream Theater throughout the entire track.

They have such a good music, but that singers voice is too much. That´s the reason, why this band is not well know

Funny you mention Gilmour, cuz he's my other Favorite Guitarist of All Time!!! 🤘😜🤘 Ayu stole my heart about 7/8 years ago. Little baby girl playing with so much Emotion on her little face and then shreds our faces off 5 seconds later!!! 🤣❤🤣 Just such an Amazing Lil Lady. Wish her the Best of Success in Life!!

Great American compilation! Starting with ‘She Said Yeah’ really sets the rockin’ vibe. The sequence matters. Missing that is like missing the opening song of a live set. (Innocent human error. Understood. But it was unfortunate.)

„It was a wedding ring destined to be found in a cheap hotel” - great line, with brilliant background music. Very delicate with a low background sound, but at the same time, for me, the culmination of the whole piece.

Just an FYI, the whole theme of moving on and making it through you spoke about without “freaking out” all has to do with Covid. Lyrics: “When you see the world’s reaction, don’t you freak out” he’s basically telling the listener not to react the way the majority of the world is. Thanks for reviewing an artist I love :) by the way my band Cydemind ironically and unplanned released a song called call of the void at the same time as him haha. Talk about irony
