Good video. I have one question. My chest freezer gets an extremly hot surface on the outside during cooling the water down. Is that normal? Does your freezer has this hot temperatures too?
@JamesSwiftFit8 ай бұрын
Thank you. I don’t have that issue. I keep it at a relatively even temp year round. To get it started, i added a bunch of ice so the freezer didn’t have to do all the work initially.

How long does your water stay clean with the hydrogen peroxide? Do you have to keep adding hydrogen peroxide or once per fill?
@JamesSwiftFit Жыл бұрын
I just add once per fill. I havent had any issues and I try to be clean when I go in. Its not often I go in directly after a workout. I try to rinse off most of the time to keep the water as clean as possible.

I really miss you James. Stay positive and never give up but I'm the last person you need to hear say " listen to your body ". If you can't do the race because of injury it's okay, there will always be another. Your health is the most important thing in the world. Btw ...hot in Sacramento? uhm no... try 102 with humidity lol!
@JamesSwiftFit Жыл бұрын
Robert? Is that you, man?! We miss you too. Thank you for the encouragement. Ill run the race and if I have to back off, I will. And, yes, humidity would be a killer with the heat. Hope Texas is treating you well.

I might’ve missed it but what was the epsom salt for? Cleanliness or just for the soreness (body) thanks
@JamesSwiftFit Жыл бұрын
Originally it was supposed to help with cleanliness. After further research, it was not helpful for cleanliness or soreness. Generally want warm water to open pores for the soreness anyways. I had read it could help with cleanliness, but that was a negative. Now using hydrogen peroxide mixture and a UV water filter.

How can I calculate calories if i wanna lean bulk ?
@JamesSwiftFit2 жыл бұрын
"Lean Bulk" is just a buzz term, kinda like "body recomposition". It's difficult to gain muscle in a calorie deficit (fat loss phase), because your body is using all your calories to keep you functioning, and it's hard not to gain some body fat if you're in a surplus (muscle building phase). You could eat in a small surplus, like 250 calories more than maintenance (TDEE) to limit body fat accumulation, but the muscle gain will probably be slow because you are providing limited surplus energy to build. At the same time, if you're new to lifting or just starting to clean up nutrition, you can gain muscle mass while losing body fat by eating at your maintenance level (TDEE) or a small deficit (250-500 cal deficit of TDEE), while eating sufficient amounts of protein. One of the benefits of being new to the game. I hope that helps.

I use a UV aquarium light and aquarium canister pump filter to keep my chest plunge freezer clean and a inkbird thermostat to keep at temp. I’m also in Sacramento.

Based on some short term google searches, it looks like UV and Hydrogen Peroxide can be used in conjunction and may be more beneficial.
