In my country we call it sukun. Ive eaten it since young although its lost popularity as our world modernised. Ive initially read about breadfruit from reading the Mutiny of HMS Bounty. I was wondering what is this seemingly magical fruit that white people would dedicate a whole expedition to acquire. Then when the internet came, I once tried to google. I was very disappointed to find out that Ive known this thing already. I dont remember any of my friends missing the taste of breadfruit. Everyone wants to eat burgers, steak, and other things. How bad is the food in England that they had to go on perilous adventures to acquire average food? The circumnavigation of Magellan was mind blowing too. They send more than 10 ships, have only one ship return home intact with spices, and consider the journey profitable. Mad men.

Average you say? Breadfruit/Sukun is absolutely delicious!!! Especially when it slightly ripen. Nothing mediocre about breadfruit. If this fruit should go extinct in the Caribbean, it will most definitely be missed. Thank you for watching 😊 What’s the name of your country may I ask?
@de05094 сағат бұрын
@RacquelsCaribbeanCuisine malaysia. Maybe its because we dont explore it too much. Our staple food has always been rice. And here breadfruit is always just an afternoon snack you buy from the roadside or if youre lucky, you have a tree at your house. Altho village life is slowly dwindling. Most houses in malaysia nowadays are terrace houses with a pitiful front lawn and no space for anything else. Either that, or apartments

Made this a few times. Not sure if it is because I was using bread flour, but dough was really dry. Added an extra 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Milk to get the dough to come together better.

Hi Raquel. I am here trying your fried dumpling recipe. It's good up to the point of adding the butter. Applying one (1) cup milk (I only had ALMOND milk), disaster began to set in. I cautiously poured the milk, doing so bit by bit but the dough began to " spoil ", the more milk I applied. It was perfect up to about 1/4 cup usage. At (1/2 cup) usage thats when I decided to stop A applying the milk. So I think 1 cup milk is too much. What do you think ?
