The bad guy in this was kind of a heel in real life as well. Steve Cochran was his name. B list actor who dated some A list actresses. Cheated on many of them. Died in 1965 in a boating accident off of Catalina island.

This song reminds me too much of Florence Ballad departure (firing) from the Supremes. 1967 music was changing … while still popular but were losing the black audience and the song peaked @#2 (two weeks) on billboard charts. A few didn’t like the group name change …record sales slowed. Great song yet my least favorite.

For me this song is one of the best three songs Burt Bacherach ever wrtote, and considering the amount of hits he wrote, that is truly saying something. I still prefer Cilla Blacks version though..

The world will never see the likes of them again. They were two in a zillion. The style and delivery of the song is so beyond their years! You can’t teach that kind of talent. They were born with it!

I know it sucks when Ben got shot at the end. However, if it makes it easier for you both, the actor (Vincent Survinski) first saw the film at a theater with a large black audience. All I will say is this, he was DAMN lucky to come out in one piece!

I felt like listening to this song tonight, and decided to hear it as a reaction. Yours was the only one to come up, which is surprising to me because IT IS indeed such a great song. This and "You Showed Me" are my two favorite Turtles songs - they sort of flip-flop with me, but "She's My Girl" usually wins out! If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out "You Showed Me" also - guarantee you'll like it! -Tim

Hey there! If you’re reading this I just want you to know that Jesus loves you so much! He cares about you and has a purpose for your life ❤ I have messed up in life, like a lot. But I know that Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for our sins. He rose from the dead three days later. Jesus died to save every single one of us from spending eternity in hell Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

Growing up in East Oakland in the 60's and 70's, one television, I learned to clear dinner dishes and put food away quicklly with my older sisters. The local tv station KTVU would show I Love Lucy at 7pm and it was the only show dad would'nt call "dibs" for the tv.
