Great video! How much money did you make as a cover teacher? Isn’t it much less than a regular teacher? And did the school still sponsor you even though they hired you initially as a classroom teacher?

Thanks! I was hired as a classroom teacher so I was receiving my normal wage while I was supplying here and there. The school and I had a bit of a situation so unless they wanted a court case they let me be.

Thanks for sharing your authentic experience about teaching abroad. Most people tend to focus on the highlights of teaching abroad so it's quite refreshing to come across videos like these. And ngl you're a really good talker I usually struggle to sit through talking videos but whenever they're your videos, I can sit through the whole thing. Asalamu alaykum sis! Thank you for posting this. I’m going to uni this year but in the long term Insha’Allah I want to move to the gulf countries. Do you think it’s easier to get a medical job there or an educational one if you’re coming from the West? Also, here in the US teachers are not paid very well. Is that the same for these countries?

Wcs, thanks for watching hun! To be honest I’ve learnt a lot after I moved to the gulf countries. For families it is not reliable to stay in these countries for a long period of time because you are on residence visa permits up to 2 years which requires to be renewed. Expats stay usually up to 4-6 years sometimes longer. England doesn’t pay teachers well either but the gulf countries do. My friend is in the medical field and at one point I was helping her get a nursing job out here and she did secure one but decided to take a different route. All in all, if you want to better your lifestyle, earn extra money and live in a hot place the UAE is the way forward.

Wcs, thank you so much for watching my videos, I appreciate it. In regards to hiring a car I’m not too sure because I don’t drive here but I have friends that drive but the general transportation in Qatar is taxi and it is the cheapest in comparison to the UAE. You can also catch buses and trains.

Jazak Allahu Khair Marian. Well done for taking that step. May Allah continue to guide you. Please remember the hijab is an article of faith. It's a part of it. No one is perfect in all things. Don't look down on your striving with hijab when other areas of your faith are not on the same level. May Allah ease your journey 💕 💕 daily dua and adkhar is something that really helps me. You probably already know about hisnul Muslim. Sis, dua's and adkhar are powerful! Not only for your prayers being answered or for guidance but for your mental wellbeing. People talk about 'manifestation and affirmation' all the time and as Muslims we've always had this in dua and adkhar. When you understand the reward in some duas... 😩 😩 It's deep. Wish I payed more attention as a child when my mom taught me but Alhamdulilah we know better now. You want wisdom, make dua 'Rabi sidni ilma, put in work and trust in Allah'. You want help with mental health: Last verse of surah baqara. I legit cry everytime I read it. May Allah continue to guide you. I'll add you to my duas sis. Much love for the sake of Allah 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕

@@Mariansweets I have 16 years of experience teaching vocational dental assistant studies at a vocational college in USA. I am finishing up a bachelors in religion and plan to do a MAT English .. secondary education. Will I need to do two years of teaching in public schools after my teaching license is given to me or will my experience teaching vocational studies count towards years of experience needed to work in international schools in Dubai? Hey! Thank you for watching and no we aren’t expected to teach any Arabic related subjects (Arabic, Qatar history and Islamic lessons). Just the English subjects.

Thank you for all your videos sis. How long does it take for schools to get back to you? I have submitted a few application around 30th December and I still haven’t heard anything. Normally in UK it’s a quick decision but I’m not how it works in the golf countries. Would be grateful for your reply.

Thanks for watching😊 in terms of applying, it depends on which term you want to apply for. If it’s for January positions, it’s a little bit late, usually I start around September/ October and latest November. Or are you applying for September 2022 start? So it depends on which date you applied for and also you applied during the holidays. HR reply to job vacancies when it is needed the most. I hope that makes sense!

Yes anyone working in Qatar is required to be fully vaccinated by now otherwise visa will not be provided to stay in the country.
