nice video. Know & love the place very well. For strangers & out of towners, you really should speak slower & more clearly. This home is near & dear to my heart. Please don't rush.

maria, my suggestion to you is that you educate yourself BEFORE opening your mouth. water is proven to be one of the best birthing options for a healthy, low risk delivery.

you actually let the children get in the pool after the mother gave birth? how unsanitary! gross.

Maybe you want to disable the comments on here. It seems there are a lot of people trying to spread disinformation and just make rude comments to you. This video is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.

pregnancy in water can propose health problems for both child and mother. It's not necessarily the most logical solution for delivering.

At around 3:10 I literally got chills. This was awesome! Loved the photos you captured. I have two girls, had them in a hopital. But this was so sweet especially when the other two girls got in and the whole family looked so happy. Lovely work!

Also, my second baby was born bluish-purple with cord around her neck. My midwives calmly handed her to me and waved an oxygen tube under her nose; there was no emergency. Midwives are highly trained to handle complications. In my experience, most hospital staff "emergencify" minor issues, where at home many so-called emergencies are treated merely as variations- not problems at all! In cases of true emergency, midwives are prepared to transfer efficiently and rarely experience fatalities.

Thanks for your questions! Losing a child is absolutely awful- I miscarried two year ago and it still hurts. The risk of a baby dying in childbirth is about the same in hospitals and midwife-attended homebirths. Knowing the risk is the same, I'd rather face a loss at home, with people I know and love, than in a hospital with strangers. I'd also rather know that my child's last moments were spent at home, free of labor drugs, forceps etc, and surrounded by love.

But what if something had happened to your baby? I understand, bad things can happen at hospitals too, but wouldn't you rather be uncomfortable than have a dead baby? What if the baby couldn't breath, got the cord wrapped around its neck? Those precious minutes waiting for an ambulance could be what kills your child.

I know it's natural...but you realize that being in a birthing pool means swimming with your after-birth...

I would want an epidural in a hospital...a friend of mine did, I gave her my arm to hold onto, and until the epidural finally kicked in, it felt as if my forearm broke! After I experienced that, I feel like not having one until they can be grown in jars! (yes, I'm being facetious)

Congratulations! My husband's main concern was the expense of the pool, and the clean-up afterwards. Many birth centers and a few hospitals have birth pools, in which case you wouldn't have to buy your own pool or clean it up yourself. But birth centers and hospitals often have a waiting list for the pool, so you might not get it. It's helpful to find out your birthplace's policies as soon as possible. Hopefully your bf will be happy to do what's best for you and your baby! Best wishes!

My first birth was just me, husband and midwife. It was great. It's very hard to keep things intimate now that we're living so close to family... they all want to "help". For my 4th birth we kept things private by not telling anyone we were in labor until after the baby was born- it was just me and my husband, very intimate and lovely. Still, Jacob's birth was a joyful experience surrounded by love, and I am thankful to have such a supportive family :) God bless you and your future baby!

A toddler's greatest joy is to take all his or her clothes off and run around in the buff. Actually, most adults I know feel the same way and just can't get away with it!

God bless your little girl! Hope your birth goes well. I also wanted to be there for the birth of my baby brother, but my mom transferred to hospital after a long pushing phase. I was so disappointed, I was determined not to let my own girls miss out! It's a great learning opportunity. So glad they'll know a bit of what birth is about by the time they're women... the cultures with the easiest births seem to be those where birth is a family matter, something girls are familiar with.

And 1 quick comment to ptotty or eaten feet your name is if you can't see the innocence in the pictures of those girls waiting for their baby brother to be born, maybe your the suspicious one!!!

Alyssa is not technically in the Bible, but it means "rational," and her middle name is "Joy". We thought "rational joy" was a good description of our faith- we have so many reasons for joy! BTW, Jemimah's middle name is Ruth :) That's a great name, and great story!
@Hey_Ruthie12 жыл бұрын
Oh, that's pretty! Is Alyssa in the Bible? My siblings and I also have all Bibical names! When my mom was pregnant with me they were thinking names like Julianna, Hailey or Kailey, but they felt God told them in their heart to name me Ruth so I am a Ruth! I love my name and nothing else fits me!
