@@FloreyXE They're right. AI is actually a really fascinating topic that I could go on about for a while, but to shorten things down the AI models don't contain any images. If they did the models would be absurdly huge. It's a little hard to explain to someone who isn't a programmer, because machines don't remember things in the same way we do, but basically an image generation model is a set of numbers that are slotted into a mathematical equation.

Here lemme explain as a fellow artist Ai can actually make copies of different art from its sources and even use piece of it in the finally render the reason its stealing from artsit because Ai has no choice but to use real art from people to make these images and as I said before it can literally take from original artworks to try and make it its own but is bad at it its also bad for artist and animatiors because big corporations are relying on a fake product made by art to get something uncanny or even down right bad at times ON TOP of the fact if you cant afford art then dont buy it as art is clearly a luxury and you wont die without it but artist who arent paid CAN die without and loose so much ai will be nothing without current artist artist spend hours or even days on artwork to be push aside because "Ai can do it in a matter of seconds" this is a lively hood of many people could you imagine a world with just fake ai made works it wouldnt be creat as Ai strugfles still to make certain things like horses, hands, objects behind objects, proper hair, etc. An artist can do so much more for you than ai and at the same time you support that artist giving them opportunities in life to reach higher goals like top animator working for big places like Warner Brothers, Pixar, Dreamworks, etc.

@THE_Only_Valentino_ has given a good answer. But I would like to add that this short shows another form of stealing by AI, and that is the stealing of wins and titles. An AI machine's video of morphing images won in an "animation" competition instead of animators who put their hearts and souls into their work. It is just very disappointing to see as we also see singers voices, guitar solos and riffs being stolen to create souless AI music too. There just has to be a line somewhere. But you did raise some good questions about referencing, it's good consider all sides and have a discussion about it 😊

I should also probably step in and point out thay a lot of so called "Artists" (Of course, not all of them will be like this) use AI generation to do the majority of work for them then they'll edit the AI's generation image to make it look like that they did the work themselves from scratch.. AI is ruining the futures of potential artists that could've been pretty famous by now but so much AI art is being posted to the point people speculate if it's even handcrafted from scratch or if it was just edited over after using AI.. My partner loves doing their own digital art and knowing that they're struggling because of AI art taking over social media is truly atrocious..
