Very nice, the oldest machine I own is a craftsman 2 14hp, vertical shaft, 5 speed, rider. NO deck and engine. But I got a 16hp engine that will work, and currently in the process of rebuilding the rider it's self atm. I am going to repaint it (Black and Grey). I am going through all that effort because I want it to last me the rest of my life.

Did you connect the positive wire from the headlight to the low and high beam wires ?
@thetrumbowergarage2 ай бұрын
The 9003/h4 terminals plug right into the stock harness. No mods required. Then for the halo lights I just connected those into the side marker lights. But be warned they blink since they are turn signals. So I would actually tap into the lights beside the turn signal.

If you are just trying to remove rust something acid based like mariatic acid or a tolite bowl cleaner works well you just need to pay attention because it will attack the part as well but the damage is generally not that bad if you don't leave it to long but thats for rust but for an aluminum carb id just use a degreaser and would be good for cleaning but not really do much for rust but for aluminum id make sure the degrease is not to basic because that will attack the aluminum too

That is too much slack. The timing belt on this car is tough because the tensioner is on the wrong side. You need to set the crank one tooth behind the cam gears. I have a video on this kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZeoc4iwZtOMbq8si=zi5Au50bVybBQm3q&t=691
@thetrumbowergarage8 ай бұрын
Would you say that I am fine just tightening the tensioner up since the belt and tensioner was replaced in 2018 and that was 12,000 miles ago? Or should I buy a new belt and redo it all? I was watching your videos earlier today trying to figure it out. lol I am think the shop that did this did it wrong and it has had this much slack this whole time because I didn’t change anything with it. If that is true I am lucky my engine is still running fine.
@DirtSweatGears8 ай бұрын
@@thetrumbowergarage Since the tensioner is on the right side, and the engine turns counter-clockwise, you'll want loosen the tensioner bolt, pull the slack out, then lock the tensioner and check if it all lines up. If it all lines up, you're good. if it's off time you'll need to take the upper cover off so you can re-set timing. technically it's drivable even if it's off by a tooth, but it won't run as good as it possibly can.
@thetrumbowergarage8 ай бұрын
On preludepower they are saying that I don’t even need to remove the covers is that correct? If so That makes my life a lot easier and I will probably do that after school tomorrow night.
@DirtSweatGears8 ай бұрын
@@thetrumbowergarage just to tension? that's right. But if you need to pull the belt and re-set you'll want to pull off the to half outer cover, you MIGHT not need to but its really easy and will make your life less miserable.
@thetrumbowergarage8 ай бұрын
Sounds good I am goi nag to try and just tension it up at first and If that doesn’t work then I will take the cover off and try and get it right. I am honestly thinking about removing the engine this summer once I get my Opel Gt driving better and regasketing the whole engine since it leaks in several sports and deleting the ABS and just cleaning everything up.
@rogerbriscoe34278 ай бұрын
not normal at all. It is likely to slip time at higher rpm. it needs to be tighter.
@thetrumbowergarage8 ай бұрын
Sounds good. Do you think that the tensioner needs to be replaced or just tightened. Also this was at TDC and it gets tighter when not on TDC.
@brianpeters70968 ай бұрын
Pull the front cover you've got a tensioner problem
@thetrumbowergarage8 ай бұрын
Well hmm. It gets tight when ever it isn’t on TDC. And when I was turning the engine over with a ratchet with the plugs out I ncould feel it turn easy and hard but that was probably because it was opening and closing the valves.

@thetrumbowergarage11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes we are. We are using the torque tube, front suspension, engine cross member, and some trans crossmember bolts to mount it. And the plan might be to make a rotisserie out of it. Because this car is pretty rusty in the tail panel and the rockers. We are also planning on welding bars across the interior of the car so it won’t flex. I think you did something similar.
