Thank you, we used a butter nife and bent it so we could get it a little further to get it past the latch

I want to thank you for your video. I have a Fleetwood Excursion. The side hinge basement door to the engine batteries would not open. Using your idea as a template I used a 50 lb Monkey Hook (bent out of shape) like a slim jim to push the latch piston past the metal hook that keeps the door closed. Again, thank you for the idea!.

Theres no space between the door frame and the door for me to get the latch to release this way. :( any other ideas?

This worked perfectly for me. I removed the molding and was able to push the latch back. I used a putty knife to get it started then I used an Allen wrench to push the latch that last little bit (instead of the pegboard tool). I did not need to remove the door latch first. This allowed me to order a new latch set and still keep my rig locked with the deadbolt. Thanks for the video.

I actually bought a "keyless" latch from rvlock.com. Overall, very happy with it.

Well I get the gist. But I've smashed the key lock out and I can't get in.
