My parents are both actors. My father played Iago and my mother was Emilia. Too bad I was just 5 years old when they played it (1997) And too bad there is no video recording of it. I really wish I could watch it now.

How can i turn this opening monologue into a comedy?
@CorkShakespeare5 ай бұрын
To make the opening scene of As You Like It more comedic, you can: 1. Add Physical Comedy: Make Orlando and Oliver's fight clumsy and exaggerated, like a slapstick routine. 2. Exaggerate Dialogue: Have Oliver react dramatically to Orlando's words, like he's overly sensitive or easily offended. 3. Amplify Character Traits: Make Oliver more pompous and self-absorbed, while Orlando could be naïve and misunderstand the situation in a funny way. 4. Use Funny Props: Introduce silly props, like Oliver pulling out a ridiculously long family tree during their argument. 5. Play with Irony: Make Oliver complain about trivial things, like Orlando using his hairbrush, which the audience finds ridiculous. These changes will make the scene funnier while keeping the story intact.

I’m so nervous, I’m auditioning for antonio and this is the scene I have to play 😢 (2:31-3:33)
@CorkShakespeare6 ай бұрын
I would advise you to just focus on your lines. If you have the time, you could create an audio file with Audacity where you read the lines of the other characters and leave a gap for your own lines. It takes a bit of effort, but you can use it anywhere, anytime to learn your lines and build character.

I have this play next week i play viola.. I don't know my lines😭😭
@CorkShakespeare9 ай бұрын
There are many different methods to learn your lines. One of my favorites is to use an audio recording software like Audacity (which is free). Record all of the lines of the characters in the scene and leave Viola's lines blank. I've also used the technique of memorizing through association. This involves memorizing each line using a keyword from the line and associating it with a particular physical location. It can be quite an arduous process but can also be effective.
