Speaking as a man, if anyone has ever been confused about what it looks like when a man loves a woman, look at this guy. Watch how he watches her. You'll never see a better example.

Thank you for posting. I love how she prefaces each song with its backstory. She is so earnest, honest, and genuine.

I adore Jeremy Jordan and this version of Over the Rainbow, but I also beg you - and Jeremy, if he happens to read this - to listen to the woman who introduced this song in 1939's The Wizard of Oz. But listen to the version in the below link, which is Judy singing it in a black and white TV special from the 1950s. She is dressed in her tramp costume from the song she has just performed. She walks to the edge of the stage and sits alone in the spotlight to sing Over the Rainbow. The raw pain in her voice is gut-wrenching. This is the Judy formed by thirty years of abuse, neglect, overwork and misunderstanding; of people taking advantage of her gifts, getting her addicted to pills so she could work harder, and then leaving her in the lurch. This is the antithesis of the wide-eyed, hopeful, innocent Judy who first sang this song for the world in 1939. This is the reality of heartbreak. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqTcl6SCnp1leJI&pp=ygUmanVkeSBnYXJsYW5kIG92ZXIgdGhlIHJhaW5ib3cgMTk1MHMgdHY%3D

My fave Crosby song since 2016. I cover this with a great drummer....occasionally....in drop D on a Telecaster. More than once, I have not been able to finish the tune without weeping. The combination of the chord progression and the lyric can be emotionally overwhelming. Like Joni's song Heijira.

The intro notwithstanding, this is NOT how this song should be sung. Period. End of sentence. It's a glorious, bittersweet Sondheim melody, and this version AIN'T it.
