I paddled the middle on Monday of this week. Wish I could have caught up with you guys, but it was a good, dry-head run. that day for me. I have much to learn, but I'm getting more comfortable with it each time. Such an awesome river!

Great video! Seeing the two of you in my neck-of-the-woods is pretty cool. If you haven't checked out Bell Smith Springs yet, you should. The hike is more challenging, but the views are worth it. I would recommend warmer weather for it as you, most likely, will end up with wet feet from the creek crossings.

Yes, what was the level? I've only run the St. Francis at 3 below 0 and did the S run at Cat's Paw. Great video! Who is the fellow in the blue Pyhranha playboat at Big Drop? That was dope!

Nice run my friend. I'm not even sure I could paddle the Upper St. Francis and stay upright at this point. WoR this past July was the last time I have been on real whitewater. Sad, but true.

Probably should have brought a fishing pole, my friend. Cool video. This was the first NYD since I started paddling that I haven't spent on whitewater on the Saint. Kinda depressing. Honestly, I haven't been on real whitewater since WoR back in July of last year. Hoping it's like riding a bike when I do get back on the water, but I'm probably gonna look like a fool...lol

I bring the scouts up to Humpty Dumpty every summer to swim and jump off rocks. We spend the day there. At low levels it is a great place to swim, even sliding down that last part on river right. In the summer the cave on the right is empty and dry. There is a hole to climb down into the cave, then up on the rock "sumbathers rock". The hike down takes about 20 min. Inside that hole on river right at the first ledge , you can sit under the falling water for a Jacuzzi. Feels great on the back. The scouts are always ready to go back.

Great video Joe!!! You are killing it out there. Dan kills me. He looks like he is paddling a 0" lap on the Saint...lol. I'm sure Slim and Mike made it look easy as well (which I know it isn't) and styled the lap. Hoping for some rain sometime soon so we can paddle our beloved Saint Francis.

On the road again. LRC is such a beautiful river. The water is always so clear. If you look closely around humpty Dumpty rapid you can see my paint marks maring some hiking trails I have made.

The duffek stroke is very useful here where you want to catch an eddy quickly and stay at the top of the eddy. Racers use this stroke to catch eddy's. Most self taught kayakers , "drag themselves and the kayak into the eddy". While this works, but sometimes you end up at the bottom of the eddy or out the other side. It makes catching eddy's crisp and clean, and its very easy, almost natural once you start using it. Try it, and sss. Looks like a great river for this

awesome move there at humpty dumpty. I really like catching that left eddy, then seeing the line. paddle out and let the current take you to the right and boof the ledge. You did it perfectly. You really have to be careful that lower level. Most of the deaths have occured at lower levels. That overhang you padddled under at 6:39, was under water one day when we went down and the water was up to the road at CMP. Made for a fast trip.
