They did a good job of showing several things this episode Viserys’ conflict, Rhea’s frustration but few mention how politically astute Alicent already is even though they are the same age and the subtle and not so subtle politics being waged around her look who that Lannister is sitting next to after he got dissed…look at Larys…the interaction with Lady Redwynne… even Ser Cole he would’ve rode into any battle for her … they were all Green supporters in the end poor tinktink didn’t stand a chance

He was a complete fool to publicly name Rhaenyra his heir, forcing all the lords to swear to here, and then proceed to marry again without Rhaenyra's full consent - thus guaranteeing a civil war. He was a total idiot not to marry Laena. A total idiot. He could easily have waited 5 years to start having children with her. This is the one marriage that would have worked - Rhaenyra would absolutely have accepted a son of Viserys and Laena as having a superior claim to the throne. Then - he was a fool beyond belief not to marry Haelena to Rhaenyra's oldest son Jace while simultaneously arranging for marriages for Aegon and Aemon (at young ages) in Essos - or to the Starks or Greyjoys

So 'Nyera was for the streets, Alicent was salty that she was too scared of her pops & had to be a good girl so proceed to start a war 😂
