Did this for years on a Doosan multi-axis lathe (TT1800SY). It's super-efficient and almost completely eliminates chatter. You can double your feedrate and significantly increase spindle speed. Very cool. Tapering is reduced as well.

What is it doing? Roughing two passes on top of each other?
@cuttingcnc91112 жыл бұрын
Sort of. It is cutting same size at same z location. This allows you to double your FeedRate. Because upper and lower turret are 180 degrees apart, it also keep part stable due to it being in a pinch state.
Load Sensing ? Is this a standard way to do ? Or a Work Around , I though Probes would have been used ? , Does the machine support this way ? Is this the recommended way , it's sooooo cool 🌸🌸🌸

Nice! Can you tell me which M code you used to control SFM using the y-axis? Thank you.
@cuttingcnc91113 жыл бұрын
Hi there, On newer Nakamura control, it is M code activated but on older 30i, you can do it by writing to parameter. Parameter 3770=4 for Y axis, 3770=0 for X axis(standard) This is how I do it: Before Y axis partoff application (Y-AXIS CSS ON) G4.1P1 G10L52 N3770R4 G11 G4.1P1 (partoff routine) (Y-AXIS CSS OFF) G4.1P1 G10L52 N3770R0 G11 G4.1P1 Just remember if you hit reset during partoff, Y axis SFM is still active so make sure to change back to 0 If you want, you can create a custom M code for this which makes life easier. Hope this helps.

if the cmm indicate that the part is bad or is a limit good part what the robot will do? The CMM give any correction to the CNC?
@cuttingcnc91114 жыл бұрын
If part is bad, you can stack parts in separate bin or flag them as bad on HMI screen. Many options based on your part. This setup was only for machine tool show. There is software such as Autocomp that allows you to easily communicate between CMM and CNC via Ethernet cable. You can add wear offsets based on tolerance or stop machine if necessary. The software is very user friendly.

if the cmm indicate that the part is bad or is a limit good part what the robot will do?
@cuttingcnc91114 жыл бұрын
If the part is bad, it will show up red on HMI screen and still offload part in rack. The CMM always sends wear offset adjustments to appropriate machine for next part. If the offset change is greater then a tolerance we set, it will stop machine before finish pass to allow operator to go in machine and change insert.
