Man I wish we had these portable diesel heaters back in the 80s would have been great in our ice shanty’s !

If you hooked up a pipe to the intake on the heater and put that in the tent it would be a lot more efficient and you could run it on a lower setting.

So.. looks like @RichardOutdoors is one of those milktoast trollers that posts comments to make themselves feel accomplished? If you don't like the video, great.. to each his own. But what do you get out of a meaningless comment like that? Someone takes a little time to share a project with others, with nothing to gain other than sharing, and you are now some kind of digital media voice we should care about?

Nope, still going strong. Just use a hitch tightener and it's rock solid. Heard some folks having issues with theirs but that's because they used a regular cargo carrier...I used the one made for carrying electric wheelchairs/scooters. It has a heavier duty metal plate underneath the rack

Looks nice. I've noticed you didn't provide any ventilation for the box. How hot does it get inside with lid closed? You could take the intake filter and put it on directly onto bottom of the heater intake. Just provide some ventilation. Hcalory came out with pre installed heater in a case. Some what flimsey. I think I'll use Ridgid tool case for mine.

Yeah, I had planned to redo the combustion air intake to be inside the box with just a vent installed on the side of the box....but to be honest it has been running perfectly so it is low on the priority list. I would like to eleominate the need to plug that intake filter on when setting up. The heat inside is actually minimal...like just above body heat range.

I think a metal box would work better (plastic can be brittle and melts dealing with higher temps) I would go that route if used outside for ice fishing or camping.

@hardh2ofishin857 6 ай бұрын
The Plano boxes don't get brittle and nothing hot touches the box to melt it.

Awesome video. I am planning on doing the exact same thing in a Ridgid Pro 2.0 medium tool box. The part that has me stumped is the different rigid fuel line kits out there. The most recommended kit I have seen seems to have 2 different sizes of tubing, one 4mm OD and one 5mm OD. I am not sure why you would need 2 different sizes when the ID is the same. This would also require different sized connecting rubber tubes. What kit or list of parts did you use? Also, what fuel filter? Thanks.
@hardh2ofishin857
@hardh2ofishin857 7 ай бұрын
Didn't have to get a separate kit..I made sure the heater that I purchased came with the rigid fuel line already. Fuel filter came with it as well.

Honestly, I have made no changes and it runs great. I do use the additional hose to recirculate air from the tent which has reduced fuel and power consumption as I can run on lower setting.

See the another video on my channel of the field test. No issues and currently wouldn't change a thing. I do run an air hose to recirculate the air and so I usually only need to run on setting 2 or 3. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5DbfoeCgK6feNUsi=TxHLOx9xMnMhnMGC

Thanks for you vidéos, how did you make your connector 12v for your jackery, does it change the capacity for amps, ? i made à cigarette lighther 12 v with my ecoflow and thé diesel heather draws too much amps, so thé éco flow stops. I Didn’t thought make that type of connector

Can you use a smaller jackery to run the heater? How loud is it? Want ot do stealth camping in the city, but concerted that people in the neighbourhood would hear it. Did the second muffler help?

Good job smarty pants! I think it might work better if you turn the sled around so that you drive onto the curve slanted side first. Works good the way you have it but might be smoother without the sled hobbling around the way it does driving onto the the back side or the 90° edge.
@hardh2ofishin857
@hardh2ofishin857 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, tried that first. But then the Snowdog doesn't sit in the sled right. The way the track is on the snowdog, it "ramps up " at the front to climb and stay on top of the snow and that matches the sled design. Because my snowdog is the full track (not the compact one) it just barely fits the way I have it configured now I to the sled. When I do as you suggested, it doesn't fit into the sled.

My opinion is that warm air should always be pushed from the bottom of the room, and according to the laws of physics, it will then go up. Less fuel would be used for heating and the temperature would be more evenly and comfortably distributed.
