Great tutorial! thanks!. However, somehow when I set the setting for visibility according to your video, when I switch my ik fk some how only the ik is affected, the fk's visibility didn't change, what did I do wrong here?

may i know the last part, visibility, what does it use for?

Hi I wanted to report a small error at minute 7:42, that is when you select the sphere with the nurbs curves and add it to the group of layers! On the video you can see that the FK group is selected on the layer table to the right of the canvas, also when you add it to a layer that is hidden as in this case the newly added object should also be hidden! Just one more thing after inserting the locator on the foot you show at 8:55 that you do something with a twist attribute of the foot, but when was it created and how? That's all here, nothing in particular. Nice tutorial, however, I learned many new things! Thanks!

I'm totally disappointed of this clip. I'm new to the rigging subject and you just threw the IK-FK switch out of nowhere (12:14) , i don't even know how to create the IK-FK switch or where to find the IKFK switch you've used in the clip. i've wasted 2 hours just because of this.

It's just a shape, you can use a circle instead.

Thank you for good information. I solved the problem. I have a question. Why use 4 joints each? If the limbs are short, can I shorten them to three? and Is this called quaternion? and..Shouldn't Nonroll JNT's upVextor be the opposite of the existing arm JNT?

Hi Alexandre! All yours videos are brilliants, one question, how can I implement “fk ik seamless switching” based on your videos and codes? Regards.

My blender worked only once and not on remaining nodes. Please explain me what is the solution so that I can finish my rigging fast. THANKS for the video also.

My Fk is not working, the parent-r-s is not making the curve move the joint, and constrains are making the curve useless (they jump to another part of the view) I am making connections (curve to joint) just for rotate, and it is working just fine. However, the shoulder doesn't want to follow, wrist and elbow are rotating fine when i click on the curve :/ Did someone had any luck with the FK?

I Guess you should talk next time. cool tut though.

Edit: Nevermind - I found that this flipping thing with the Aim constraint is a limitation that comes with the underlying vector math. follow up question: my arm chains only differ from yours in orientation (x - forward axis, y points down and z points in the negative negative z direction), I was able to correctly apply the (IK handle and the aim) constraints for elbow and shoulder, but when i twist my wrist past 90 degrees on my forward axis, the twist segments flip. if i change the up vector in the aim constraint's settings (- to +) the flipping still happens if I rotate the wrist -90 degrees. is this an unsolvable problem like gimbal locking? what's a good workaround for it?
@alexandrecoirier10485 жыл бұрын
Try to set aimConstraint like : aim 1 0 0 up 0 1 0 world 0 1 0

OMG, I circled around several tutorials for days (including an old one from Autodesk official) - this tutorial is the easiest to understand, is neatly done and make efficient minimal use of nodes. Thank you for this Alexandre.

in maya2018 ,while creating stretch using node editor, bringing ankle and knee FK conrollers for averaging translate Y as input for {plus or minus average node} the array variable input 1D[0] is shown but not gendrating input 1D[1]..
@alexandrecoirier10486 жыл бұрын
In Maya 2018 you have to use "Windows > General Editors > Connection Editor" to display the input1D[1]

This does work for posing and slight rotation but when rotating the shoulder first and then bending the elbow, the shoulder starts to twist again but backward.

If you want to see both controls (IK and FK) just ignore step V - Visibility

HI, in 10:34 when you move the nurb curve under the joint to me check "Error: line 1: Not enough objects or values". How do I solve?
@alexandrecoirier10487 жыл бұрын
You can execute " reorder -f " in MEL when the shape is selected to fix this error.
