I just finished today the IR40 on the Austar AX-8560. It came up pretty good. I made some changes on the esc/receiver. The only thing is that I would like to come up with something to cover the rear, it shows all the wiring and I don’t like that. I post some pictures and videos on the FB group. Nice job it looks pretty clean.

Hi Empty. Best wishes for your project with your daughter. She certainly has a lot of energy. The stock Austar transmission gears are the same ratio as the stock TRX4M transmission gears. So you can easily drop the top and middle step gears from the stock TRX4M into the Austar. However, the Austar final output shaft has a bigger squared peg for the final drive gear to fit into, so you cannot use a stock TRX4M final drive gear with the Austar final output shaft. But the TRX4M final output shaft is identical in all dimensions except for the squared peg. So if you are willing to replace the Austar final output shaft with the TRX4M output shaft, then you can use all the TRX4M gears, including the low and high optional sets. Most metal gears usually come with their own final output shaft. But that is their weak link, as they are press-fit instead of peg-in-hole. Press-fit fails easily with 3S torque. The Austar pinion is 10 tooth metal and does not need to be changed to mesh with TRX4M gears. The stock 3-in-1 receiver/ESC/light controller will accommodate a 3S battery! I run it that way all the time. You have no low voltage protection for a 3S. And it might damage the stock steering servo. But that stock steering servo needs to be replaced anyway. It will take any steering servo designed to fit the TRX4M.

hey bro just subbed i have the same truck. i added alum shock's and wheels and tires and trx4m metal diff's so far. the trans gears are plastic

Why not use the stock austar electronics?

I used Use the inner axles on the front , the outer from the trxm

The CVD are not interchangeable because austar have +4mm axle but center drive shaft fit. All other part fit well. The motor have 9t vs traxxas 11t but you can install the traxxas gear transmission gear.
