Dear Ron, awesome video like all the others! Forgive my Googlenglish (I don't know English well...), I'll just ask you a few questions in the hope that you can help me: 1. At the beginning of the video you see a Main Line with plastic spacers, what is the intertrack (the distance between the centerlines of the two parallel tracks)? 2. What is the radius of the inner track? I would like a 2" intertrack like the double crossover of Walthers or the Peco one; however, the NMRA table indicates very wide spokes, but really large, to be able to circulate all the rolling stocks of the Classical and Modern Era (Big Boy and freigh cars very long). Can anything circulate (and intersect) on your curves? Thank you so much, see you soon!

I believe the last section to be constructed is near the window. That will be featured in Part 4

@@NewHavenRails Thanks for the update. I just didn't know he was using foam core buildings in any part of the layout.

You really got a lot done, Ron. Just curiosity, how old was the old cork, that it was dry rotted? Was there a reason it dry rotted? Is the Midwest cork different, that you don’t think it will happen again?

Great progress, Ron. I use the same base for my layout plywood and sound board, then cork for the main line. I guess the old ways are the best ways.

Great progress Ron. I would like to mention that yard tracks were usually lower than the main lines. You can put your yard tracks right on the homasote. For the gradient into/out of the yards you can use woodland Scenic grade ramps OR(and this is what I did for mine) is make your ramps out of the leftover cardboard from the switch packaging. They just long enough to accomplish this. Use the long piece on top for smooth transition and cut up the rest to make the grade ramp like upside down stairs glued together with your Tightbond. I used the same roller you did to smith these out then held it down with a brick . End result is a smooth ramp AND you’re recycling. Another thing to think about is holes in your ties. I used a method using 1/2 inch # 4 wood screws and #80 washers to hold your track down after you glue it down. You screw these in between the ties while the glue dries. I use Dap Acrylic silicone with adhesive spread very thin with a scrap piece of cardboard, put the track down and screw it down. The glue will dry enough in about 30 minutes (depending on humidity) then you can remove the screws and reuse them over and over. No holes in your ties.

This was very well done. Many of the areas I had not seen before and I liked the way you focused in on the scene. On top of that you allowed us to just see the masterpiece without commentary or background noise. The use of the music in the background was not a distraction but a reminder of your channel.
