Hi. I had the flu like 3 or 4 separate times. Its a bad flu. It effects different ppl different. I was bedridden the first two days then just had flem. My brother was asymptomatic. Both of my parents were practically bedridden the whole time.

I took a bio 101 class at a community college with a teacher who informed us that he used to be a surgeon. How does a surgeon end up teaching at a community college? I googled him and found out he'd been stripped of his license to practice medicine. He spent every day of the semester showing us videos on KZbin, most of which were entirely unrelated to the lesson.

Everything. Everything is socially acceptable if you're attractive. If you're unattractive, you're just about fucked.

I find it so disheartening that some teachers will notice people being passing with high marks and think that they are failing as a teacher so they have to make it more difficult. Why does failing make it any better if before everyone was learning and getting good grades?

The craziest thing is that I've had teachers like these, too many, but I'm still in highschool. I cant drop classes and failing or skipping is worse in the long run. I fully understand that post secondary students have it rough but the sheer amount of children who face this kind of abuse daily with no escape would scare most people if they knew. Please tell me I'm not the only person who feels this way

"i was stressed" as an excuse for not teaching us how to handle livestock (first week in the course, mind you, and most of us being 16 y/o at the time) and us nearly injuring the livestock because of their inability to teach. Plus, one of the teachers were badmouthing the students to other students and professors behind our backs. Most people dropped out first term. (And me)

I had the diarrhea one happen to me once in college. Except I lived with my parents, who I relied on to take me to school (I didn't, and still don't, drive), so I didn't come the day I was ill. The next time that class was held, I apologized for missing the previous class and I said, "I'm sorry for missing class last week, I had a stomach bug and my mom and I agreed that it would be unwise to risk throwing up all over your papers." This was a community college where most students lived with their parents, some way more overbearing than mine, so the professor just accepted it and gave me an extension on the stuff I missed.

i had an ochem 2 prof once teach from handwritten lecture slides and give us practice assignments that were handwritten AND sideways. i studied 3 weeks for the midterm, got a 20%, and dropped immediately. i also took a senior level research course last term and on the first day, the prof told us how much she didn't want to teach the course because she hated research. she tried to pass it off as a "we're all in the same boat" kind of thing. i liked research before taking that course. then i actively gave myself a significantly harder course load for this coming term so i wouldn't have to take another research course. she didn't post video lectures (it was partially online) for material on the final until the day before the final (i had a different exam that day for a notoriously difficult course that took my entire day preparing for and writing. the final for this course was first thing in the morning so i had maybe 30 minutes to prepare). i could not grasp the concepts and almost failed the final but i did pass. i think i would have cried if i didn't, it was that bad of an experience.

Had and absolute legend for a Western Civilization teacher. He said the exact opposite thing to what most of these teachers/professors say: “Everyone should be getting A’s in my class and if not we’re all going back over it together.” He would always answer his emails, was super specific about what he expected of us, and was overall just a super friendly guy. My two best friends and I who all went to that school and took his class remember virtually everything he taught us. I think he had a masters from UVA which is one of the top rated public universities here in America so it should come as no surprise but still… it should not be _this_ rare to find guys like him.
