Love this! I've been wanting to try this pattern, you've inspired me :-) 1 question, what do you use for the base coat on the record? I'm never successful in getting my guidelines to show....I've tried chalk and watercolor pencils. Thanks for any tips!
@NobleArts_Ron6 күн бұрын
@paulinechoate5974 I have a video on here for record prep. It goes through each step. Look through the Playlists...I also use Watercolour Pencils too and make sure you ket your base dry 24 hours or longer! 😀

Just mesmerised watching you! How do you know where to draw your white rings - had you designed the pattern first and measured each distance according to what tool you were using?
@NobleArts_Ron21 күн бұрын
@PippaTaylor-bc5iu Not sure what you mean by white rings...I only had 1 in the middle. The grooves from the record are my rings. I never plan a mandala, I do not know what I am going to do until I do it. I don't measure, I just eyeball where to start. The record grooves keep me even.
@PippaTaylor-bc5iu20 күн бұрын
Thanks...I realised once I'd sent the message that they may just be the record's grooves- they just seemed so regular that I thought you'd drawn a few with a watercolour pencil.

An extra paper sheet was used, cisors were used too. Only a square is neeed and it's faster. Place tge corner of the square on the circumference. Draw the two lines. Complete the rectangle using the square and draw the diagonals. Or, create a center finder tool. It's a square you in wich you lodge your circle and that has a 45° arm alowing you to easily draw a radius. Use the tool to draw two radii. Intersection is the center. No waste of paper, no cutting, much easier 😅

@@NobleArts_RonEasy to create a square. Fold your paper ^^
@NobleArts_Ron2 ай бұрын
@@programaths I do not want to fold the craft paper as I am going to paint it. The whole point of this video was for people creating dot mandalas on all different sizes of circles on wood, ceramic, glass, plastic, paper, stone.....this is so they can find the center of any circle, so they can make their center dot. Do you do Dot Mandalas?

@@NobleArts_Ron I meant the paper you're cutting. You can fold the paper you are cutting and you get a square. Not the craft paper, the writing paper.

Why do this to perfectly good vinyls, especially old ones. Very disrespectful to the vinyl collector community!

I've actually been waiting for someone to make a comment like this. :) Thank you. FYI - I get all my Records from a local and well respected record store. These are not saleable, playable, or collectable in any way shape or form. These records would just be thrown out by the store and anyone else that would have them lying around. I am simply giving them a second life as ART in a visual form instead of an audio form. I find it very respectful to turn TRASH INTO TREASURE and keep excellent pieces like these from the landfill. "No collectable (or playable) records are harmed in the making of my ART!" Thanks for having a passion - I appreciate your voice!
