Hi, Thanks for your reaction. Your idea is a great one and we would love to intergrate it. We have already tried a lot in that area to design adjustable legs to fit the design. It is just very difficult to then stay within the same external dimensions. And that is our priority. An alternative way of raising the boxes that is widely used is for customers to put it on a table or on a drawer system built into the car. But we are still working on improving the box even further. Thanks again for your response. Team DTBD

Goedendag, Ik vroeg mij af hoeveel windkracht de tent kan hebben zonder dat de zijkanten loswaaien? Bedankt
@daretobedifferentoutdoor
@daretobedifferentoutdoor 2 жыл бұрын
@Zangeres Isira. Team DTBD

You have such a stylish and compact design it deserves to be in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in every US city. Unfortunately your marketing skills in photography, website design, KZbin video are poor. Spend some money and get this marketing side fixed. Your website is slow in loading photos, does not show all angles, is a klutzy design for displaying the product with very little magnification. No size and dimensions listed, no materials listed, functionality not explained on website. On KZbin the voice does not match the actions, due to dubbing in English. Speak German and add subtitles or redo demo in English. From my background as an IT Business Analyst and Project Manager, here are some tips to improve marketing and design of this amazing Chuck Box. 1. Please do not add any music to any demo. Golden rule. It interferes with analysis and evaluation, drowns out voice, and appeals to very few if any audience members. Silence is golden. 2. Redo this demo using a marketing person speaking in English. Better lighting, setting, photo angles. Especially lighting. No sweatshirt. T-shirt + blazer looks professional but casual chic. 3. Create two videos. 1 - Unboxing showing what is included and functional aspects like you showed us. 2 - Camp setting with trees, lake, a group of 3 - couple + child, showing use of product and scale in a campground. You need a sense of scale. 4. Find someone else to do the demo, not you as the engineer. Engineers are detail oriented, not audience oriented. This is your invention. You look at it with a creator's eye. The audience wants it to meet their needs and they want to know why they should pay $1000 for this tiny product. Get a marketing man/woman to tell them why. Engineers are product-oriented, not audience-oriented. Marketers have a way of connecting with the audience, as they are people persons. 5. Do not talk about details of unwrapping and how to open the plastic This is a video, not radio. We can see. Unwrapping each item is wasting viewer's time. Show what is included, how it packs back in, burner function, stand function, etc. 6. Fix your website. Hire a professional to create a better website. The current design is outdated with poor navigation and slow photo uploads that do not magnify. A website is a shop window that invites you in. You irritate the visitor with amateur design, and fail to make the sale. The visitor is paying for a luxury product and needs a limousine ride, not a vintage bumpy old truck ride to a farm. Your expertise lies in engineering, not presentation. Marketing is an art form. 7. Give specs on features: Burners - what is the BTU on each? Fuel - Propane or Butane? Show closeups of burners. Show the fuel source. Tank size? Dimensions - Chuck Box, Stand? 8. You need 4 plates + 4 bowls, not 9 plates. Enlarge drawer if you have to. How will you eat cereal or soup? 10. Chef knife needs a blade sheath. 11. Remove cheese slicer for US market, we don't eat that much Gouda! Add a can opener and bottle cap opener. 12. No plastic. Use cardboard padding instead for packing, please. 13. Shrink the size of the cutlery compartments. This is a 4-place serving, but each compartment is large enough to hold 10 pieces each of forks, spoons, knives, and this is wasted space. Have a compartment just for the knives with a foam or wood blade holder. Shrink every compartment for cutlery to half width. Add a thin rubber mat under to cut back on sound of rattling. 14. Add another silicone trivet to bottom of frying pan before placing stockpot in it. This prevents Teflon coating from being damaged, and no rattle noise of metal against metal. 15. Add a rod for a lantern. 16. Add a towel rack for cloth hand towel. 17. Make a bigger version for US market, this is too small. You need space for a French Press Coffee Maker, Tea, Sugar, Coffee, Spices, Oil. You need a taller stand, and more counter space and larger box overall. See Pungo Prairie Channel Lake Moomaw Chuck box for ideas on what to include for US market. This is the best handmade wooden chuck box I have seen on KZbin, while yours is the best metal version. Take a look also at NoviceDIYer on KZbin - he has two versions, same as Lake Moomaw. 18. Price it under $500, $1000 is too high. You are direct marketing so why not? 19. Sell on Amazon and Ebay as a form of marketing and to direct traffic to your website. More customers. 20. Selling on Ebay makes global shipping easier. Or perhaps Amazon India or similar. You have an A++ design on your model. It is superb design and a masterpiece of engineering. I am sure that MOMA in San Francisco would be happy to exhibit this as a modern art form. In which case, you could sell it for a lot at the museum store for the elites. But before that, fix the design for US market with my suggestions. It should sell well in the US for truck camping, cars, and tent camping. I would lower price and make it bigger for less elitist market and more volume sales. Use aluminum or stiff plastic to save on steel costs where possible to keep it affordable. The table countertop with extension pieces is a masterpiece of design. So are the burners. I absolutely love this model! If you want a detailed analysis with expansion measurements for US market, send me a sample box and I'll send you some design ideas for US market for additional features. I'm working on a super functional design for myself. The challenge is to build a very compact box, that is easy to use with minimal setup time, lightweight, with maximum functionality and meets all basic user needs.

Is there enough space in folded down "driving" position to store stuff like air mattresses, air pillows, both unfilled and sleeping bags in it so you are ready to close your eyes after setting up the tent or do you need additional space for the other stuff?
@DTBDoutdoor
@DTBDoutdoor 2 жыл бұрын
Mk94, Hi, Our tents are standard equipped with airmesh and 6cm mattress. In the closed tent there is space enough to store sleepingbags. Pillow filled with down we advised to not store them in the tent. There is simply not enough room for. Air pillows could be stored when deflated. Also a book or flashlight can be stored without any problem in a closed tent. Any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. Roland Dtbdoutdoor.eu

I own the 140L. The mattress (with the 15mm anti condensation mat under it) is very comfortable, so you won't need extra air mattresses. I can leave two medium sized pillows and a flannel bedsheet (laid out on top of the mattress) in the closed tent. I've tried to leave two medium warm sleeping bags in the folded tent in several ways, but was never able to close it properly. (If there is a proper way to store sleeping bags in this tent, I'd love to see a blog post or a video about how to do this.) For now I just put the two sleeping bags in a duffle bag in front or at the back of the tent, on the roof of the car, strapped tight to the cross bars.

While this is not in my budget, I appreciate all the effort put into this camp kitchen. It's beautiful, functional, weight conscious, and durable. The price is good for all that you get, because it is time saving. You don't have to shop around and hunt for a cooking pot set, or anything else that will fit in the camp kitchen, because it is all there. I suggest you do an ASMR video of someone assembling and using your product out in nature, with only the sounds of nature to hear. Have subtitles available but able to be turned off. Also upload the same video with you describing it for the visually impaired. Finally think about marketing this to the Preppers. This would be good for people after natural disasters. If the kitchen got flooded, your barbque floated/blew away, there is no electricity, you are staying at a shelter after a natural disaster but have special dietary needs you could go out to your car to make your own food easily. I hope you sell a gargantuan amount, because good design should be enjoyed.
