In Florida it's not required on private land, such as my personal property or my hunting club across the street from my house. When hunting public of any type it's required and on some tracts of land it's even required during archery.

We are waiting in travel corridors to ambush them when they travel from bedding areas to feeding areas. When a deer is ambushed (shot) while casually walking through its normal routine, the meat is better because the adrenaline doesn't kick in and cause harm to the meat. If a hunter walks all over the woods, he ruins the hunt for other hunters in the same area. He leaves his scent all over the woods. He scares the deer from their bedding areas, and changes the deer's travel patterns. Keep your Yankee hunting habits north of the Mason-Dixon Line, and let the intelligent hunters continue with their success.

I don’t gut on the spot but I hunt less than 10 minutes from my house so there isn’t a point of doing it in the field when I can do it at home
