Stupefaction is the word! How have we not seen these pieces before here. Fantastic exhibit.

Exceptional exhibit; I am so grateful I was able to see it (twice so far with plans for one more visit before it leaves).

Wow! What a great artist. Too bad many of the paints, especially the smaller ones have such Large frames one cannot see the art. Tom Thomson, wow! Thank you

Contemporary art is no more art really. it's turned to be political statements. Therefore anyone, with or without artistic talent and literacy and vision, can claim to be an artist. It's the time of bananas taped to a wall.

Is there a schedule for the exhibit to travel to northern communities yet?
@urbanmusherАй бұрын
Pick me up on your way, I want to see this Exhibit with Respect and Honour. Timmins would be perfect, with the centuries of travel by dog team around the Coast by the colonials to bring the resources to the markets. The present industries and our Fur Bearers Assoc. may all be very interested in this rich History. I can just imagine Karen Bachmans Joy to see this here. Can she help? (Gloria Allan in Porcupine, ON. )

@@urbanmusher schedule was just posted on instagram. Coming to Timmins in Feb-Mar 2026. So next winter.

I am a super-fan of your artwork because in my humble opinion you perfectly portray the deep connection between cultural identity and the natural world. I work with the elements of nature in my art practice and arriving to this intersection has been a long-slow and enjoyable process.

Amazing critique of Maudi's art work and life. Sarah's musical talents are beautiful and poignant, what a nice addition to the Maud Lewis Collection discussion. Thank you!!!

globalist agenda in art form, i think i'll pass, people are tired of this type of imagery, theyre tired of the gender agenda and the race baiting and just the out and out fakeness of the globalist agenda that your a foot soldier for, no that your art does nothing but further the divide between citizens

I went to this exhibit, it was haunting. They photoshopped endangered or extinct bird species with real human faces to personalize them, evoking more remorseful and ‘humanizing’ feelings towards these animals. It shook my soul when I first saw it, especially when paired with the eerie vocals and synth

Very informative! Thanks so much for sharing. There's a criminally small amount of content about Thomson and the Group of Seven online, let alone any other Canadian painters. CBC Gems put out some docs already! Come on!

Unapologetic for Canadian art? Who's he talking about? Canadians aren't apologetic for our art. We love our art. Canadian art represents what we, as Canadians are all about & what shapes us as a people. Where has this joker been living for these past years? I, for one, could care less what he likes or dislikes. But I guess this entire lecture is about himself.

I started watching this with an open uncritical mind but this guy is nuts, especially his opening. Thomson is standing on a wet rock fly-fishing which I've done a hundred times. If he's concentrating on anything it's keeping his balance. "Born with a gun & fishing rod in his hand". What country boy in that period wasn't? I was & I was born almost a century later. My mother's family are all from that part of Ontario. They owned property around Algonquin Park & knew Thomson quite well. He wasn't a saint or a living god, as portrayed by this joker. OMG. Tom was simply a young, gay man who loved to paint. My grandparent's knew it; everybody knew it. It just wasn't a topic for discussion around the dinner table. It was a different time, but this guy's approach is way over board with his approach.
