Game designer making something similar. Just watching your video now. What do you like and dislike about the game in your initial experience? You seem fun btw, subscribed. I love that you take the time to share your thoughts and you do not rush things. It feels very much like an oldschool let's play which is something many devs these days crave. e: quickboost on L3 forgoes the ability to second-stage (boosting is analogue like a racing game in Armored Core's 4th generation and this is needed for many special high-level commands and techniques) but wow your thumbs must be incredibly strong? your choices are extremely interesting. is there a reason you do not use the triggers (physical comfort, etc)? deeply interested. enjoying video a lot. you can change the controls but you have to exit the menu in a way that saves or it discards the changes. very weird development decisions.

Oh!! Sorry I didn't notice this comment earlier HAH But well, I hope I answered your questions on stream. Also when it comes to the dislikes, to be honest I think there isn't much to be disliked for me here. All the weapons are fun to use and have it's strengths and weaknesses, the energy management is satisfying to manage, the missions are fun to do (and some of the have some challenges), and the story is getting interesting and it's easier to follow than in AC4. If anything, maybe I dislike the removal of the optional parts and the removal of different cores with different weapons? But that's kinda too nit-picky and I'm perfectly fine without them, if the rest of the game is gonna be this amazing. And I'm glad that you like my way to approach games, thank you.

You know what? Despite how random your question was (because, you know, I'm just a regular guy who streams games), I actually tried to look into it, and even tried to tweak into the ISO file with a tool called AFS Explorer. But at the end I couldn't get anything, so I leave you the name of the tool, in case you want to try.

Nope. My first encounter with a FromSoft game was Dark Souls 1 loooooong ago (a little before it became so popular), and then I kept playing the other 2 when they came out. I haven't touch Demon Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. And when it comes to Armored Core, I became interested on the franchise after watching some AC6 streams, and my first streams of AC1 are literally my first contact with the franchise. (And I end up more interested with those than with the Souls hahah)

Try it at your own pace. It's true that the Souls are less... convenient when it comes to try different builds. Mainly because you have to farm the souls to upgrade the weapons or buy the spells/miracles. But it has it's own charm.

btw, would you play an armored core game where the main enemy were bio-weapons like AC3? Also, you get to choose which one you want to play as, like acs or bio weapons, and you can customize both equally.

@@RegularOrangeCrocodile I am sure if software ever created new bio weapons, they would look like something straight from H.P. Lovecraft. These new bio weapons could have just emerged from beyond the stars as a result of the coral outbreak at the end of the AC6 canon end. You would most likely get all your missions if you played as a bio weapon from a hive mind or someting. (like that alien campaign from AVP 2010 game.)

I've never been too much into the Transformers franchise, but I remember having a Transformers' PS2 game (I think the title was literally just "Transformers") that was such a blast. I remember fondly the different little robots that you could find on the maps like hidden collectibles, but they also acted as upgrades for the weapons and stuff. Very fun. Something like that with upgraded graphics and 4th gen mobility would truly be great.

1:42:21 was the one I was having trouble with (so pretty much just defeat him with a machine gun, I guess? I was trying to defeat him with a bazooka but he kept killing my tank because it was too slow

Yep, now that I see the fight, this is one of those enemies that you need to be fast. Because he's using a bazooka, so he can deal you a lot of damage if you don't dodge. When it comes to weapons, I guess anything that can be used while dodging works. Machinegun, missiles... Even the rifles are a very good option. The bazooka's projectiles are kinda slow, so any fast enemy will dodge them, like you said.

Well, of course! I've already completed every Armored Core that came before AC4 and all of them were a amazing, and these new speed mechanics of AC4 are super fun so far, so a combination of both would be incredible.

Yes... They can be tricky heheh... But trust me that you can cheese some of these old games with some builds, maybe try a missile spam build or some super tanky build with super high damage (so you can try to destroy the enemy before they destroy you), I think those two helped me a lot. (That's of course, until you reach Nexus, from that point on, things start to NOT be funny)

No, I started the franchise from the very start on October, and I've been streaming it since. My only contact with the franchise before October were just clips from AC6, and they looked so cool that made me start playing Armored Core.

You've got to keep the enemy in the lock on square. During your fight with abyss when you were going wild with grenades, half the time you didn't even have him targeted. You can try larger shorter range FCS to help with that. Don't forget you can also get the SOLID shell EO core, to give you additional firepower in brute force trades like that, the additional heat can put the enemy in a 0 energy situation, which is what happened when you beat him. With no energy to dodge, his AI prioritized the ECM maker, to try and make you miss. don't forget that just slowly backpedaling with the tank, will encourage the enemy to move towards you in a straight line, making them easier to hit

@@RegularOrangeCrocodile Remember that one mission I think in nexus where you had to fight 3 ravens in a row lol? for the final raven, you were just pounding him, with grenade cannon, grenade rifle, and solid shell EO on a max heavyweight tank. I kept waiting for you to break that build out lmao. Oppressive firepower.

despite the rushed introduction of the lost AI elements, I think the ending cutscene with the hoard of unmanned explosive drones is very cool. (less cool and unique though having seen the mirage attack on you earlier, a mission I don't remember encountering on my run) I think it would be worth you playing in free mission to try out some of the missions you never got to experience during the main campaign. Also, the game you're talking about playing next "armored core 9 breaker" has no missions, it is comprised of like 100 arena battles and little weird mini-games that are "training exercises" and I didn't end up getting that far in it because of that. I would recommend that rather than trying Nine breaker, you try playing the other disc of nexus "Revolutions" which according to the description allows you to try out, and experience various missions from older games in updated and reimagined ways. (I don't remember playing it) If you like Ninebreakers arena only schtick though, more power to you XD. Looking forward to more armored core with you regardless.

And even thoough I'm gonna play Nine Breaker, since I want to play them all despite of their differences, it's true that I still have Nexus' disc 2, so I'll definitely gonna play that next. And about the remaining missions, I've never done the unfinished missions in any past AC game, since I feel like it's enough for my enjoyment of the overall story, and I feel the same thing here, since the after-mission reports gave me the info about the developments from the unfinished missions. So I think I had enough.
