Congratulations on the bike . Essentially a new bike . I bought a 2002 also , but mine has 93000 . I had to put a new rear rotor and pads , and that was 1156 dollars , but it is a beautiful illusion blue with lots of extras . I paid 4000 . Lots of good deals on Goldwings now .

Dealer’s shouldn’t penalize customers because it takes more than an hour to troubleshoot. On another note my dad was diagnosed with cancer in 1997, he had a year to live but he’s still here, never quit.

Mars please please consider this and it will accomplish everything you need You can only drive one car at a time so keep the one you have in good shape. Downsize your motorcycle both in size and the cost of the machine. You can get most any smaller bike at no more than 14k new. Start looking at smaller bikes at dealerships and go on test rides. By next April when you’ve paid off most of the goldwing trade down on a new bike

Your first comment was: "I love Bumble Bee". So, Trike your bike or buy a Goldwing trike. Second, two cars is not economically sound. Buy a small used pickup so you can haul and pickup stuff and keep the car in good shape. the Nissan, Toyota, or Honda turcks have very good reputations just like the cars. That $12000 price range and below is okay. Remember, cars depreciate quickly, trucks hold their value longer. BE HAPPY, YES, BUT BE RATIONAL. JMHO. PEACE AND BLESSINGS

NO, NO, NO! YOU DON'T NEED ANOTHER CAR! BAD DECISION. THE SALESMAN IS PAID TO TRICK YOU INTO SOMETHING YOU DON'T NEED. GET A GOLDWING TRIKE AND REST. JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE APPROVED, DOESN'T MEAN YOU NEED IT. Your present car is still in excellent condition. iT WILL LAST ANOTHER 10 YEARS AT LEAST. If you really have to have another vehicle, get a small pickup truck and small trailer so you won't have to pay U-Haul every time you have to take Bumble Bee to the shop. PLEASE, NO!!!! Hi Mars , thanks for the video . I just recently started watching you , and enjoy hearing of your life . I know how you feel , missing your GoldWing , since I bought a beautiful blue 2002 and it is in the shop waiting to be worked on and has been a couple weeks . I finally called Friday and they haven’t worked on it and somehow had misplaced the rear brake rotor I had ordered ahead of time so it would be there , they found it in the parts dept . Sometimes it is good to rattle their cage to see what’s shaking . My battery is probably dead and probably been rained on a few times . I usually try to work on my own stuff but I am 82 and it is getting hard to do .just the rotor was 800 plus pads , labor and misc . I too have accessories to install , but we must be patient , unfortunately patience isn’t one of my virtues , especially when you’re paying good money to get things fixed . I am really sorry to hear of your medical problems . Try not to worry and put it in God’s hands and keep occupied with thinking of your Gwing and watching You tube videos . I like your place , it looks very peaceful and not unlike what I live like . God bless you and keep us in the loop . .

I bought a brand new 2015 CanAm Spyder SE6 Limited in 2015. I kept the bike for 5 years and sold it with only 5000 miles on it. From my perspective, I don’t like the way they corner and a very different experience compared to the two wheel motorcycle. I didn’t have a bike for a couple of years, but last year I purchased a new Honda Goldwing DCT Tour and I’m loving the experience at 68 years old. I’d make sure you get to ride a CanAm for several hours before purchasing. All the Best to you.

@@mars4508 My 2015 CanAm was the top of the line at the time and equipped with electric power steering and adjustable suspension from the cockpit. It had all the nanny technology which would automatically roll back the throttle if you were going into a corner too fast, in fact it would also brake the the required wheel to prevent tip over. Unlike a two wheel motorcycle, when you corner at speed, you have to firmly hold the bars and use your knees/legs to grip the fuel tank. By the way, the steering is supper sensitive and takes a few rides to get used to. The secret is very light inputs. Once you do get used to it, it's very nice. The CanAm will roll in corners and I found it unsettling even after five years of ownership. It's also not as easy to service as the Goldwing. Don't get me wrong, the CanAm is a nice motorcycle and it's great you don't have to put your feet down at stops. Reverse is very handy, but the Goldwing DCT has a nice reverse system. The CanAm is somewhat safer in the corners compared to a rear wheel configured trike. Ultimately, my CanAm purchase was a mistake and I should have purchased a new 2015 Goldwing. I don't believe you will have any issues selling your Goldwing if not already sold. Good Luck on whatever you end up purchasing.

@mars4508 I had a 2010 RT , it was great around town, enough power and no complaints. But on the expressway I didn't like the way it tracked, seem to want to follow the grooves on the road, I sold it and got a 1800 wing and then I ended up with my current 2006 gl1800 trike that I payed $17k for, my first ride was michigan to Tennessee, 1250 miles and if was great, you could trike yours for about 12k or sell yours and buy one, I'm sure you could test ride one at a dealer or on market place, and again test ride a Spyder on a long test drive just to be sure you are making the right decision. That's a lot of money, plus the goldwing looks so much better, jmo. I been watching your videos since day one and want you to be Happy, God Bless

If you know what you want , you should make your move now. Anything could happen; The buyer of Bumblebee may change his mind, or something else may happen to it (or you). Get rid of the shed now, and use that extra money on the one that fits the Spyder. YOU STILL SHOULD TAKE THE TIME TO TEST DRIVE A SPYDER. It rides differently from a Goldwing or any other 2-wheel bike. Videos help, but actual riding tells the truth if that's what you want. "Coach Bob3" has some excellent videos on Can Am Spyders that are very informative. I hope you don't think my comments are harsh, but I just hate to see you make a decision and regret it later. Of course these are only my opinions.

My Brother I truly wish the best for you but I don't think that you are really thinking some of these ideas through. You seem to be throwing away a lot of Money on some of your Financial decisions. You said that you were worried about dropping the Wing and not being able to get it back up. Watch YT videos on how to get it off the Ground. And that Motorcycle dealership that your dealing with is ripping you off. The money that you spent to fix your wing was ridiculous for what they did. All you did was to buy the Wing from them and have them to charge you to fix it and now going to give you a low trade in Value. Take some time and really think this through. I think that many wanted to say this but did not. Ride & Be Safe My Brother.

my GL 1800 2002 Goldwing was the same color.. i’m closing in on 800,000 miles behind bars, I’ve never hit a hail storm yet. But I have hit a puddle from heavy rain that blew both of my feet right off the foot pegs when I hit the week caused by the front tire going through that puddle… I roadraced motorcycles for 8 years, and during one of my races, a tornado crossed the track at Nelson ledges near Warren Ohio. I did not see the tornado. It was raining too hard, and I was a little busy.. back in those days, 70s and 80s, they didn’t let a little thing like rain or lightning stop or delay the start of a road race.. I always thought that riding on tires during a lightning storm, insulated the motorcycle, and the rider from a lightning strike because it was not a good path to ground for the lightning. But that is not true. During a Nother race, I was in at Nelson ledges, the annual 24 hour race around 1979 or 80, One of the other riders in that race, each bike had four riders, one of the riders was struck by lightning during the race out on the track. He crashed and broke his collarbone. I didn’t get the whole story at the time, I was a little busy. I don’t know if the lightning struck the rider, or the motorcycle, but the point is, you are not insulated for my lightning strike on a motorcycle. I think I will do a little report on lightning strikes on my KZbin motorcycle channel.. of all the times I have ridden in the rain commuting, I was lucky I never got caught in a hail storm . by the way, I did a video on my KZbin channel, giving my impressions of what it was like to own my yellow gold wing versus my Yamaha ventures, which I have had three of. I went from a 1986 Venture that I owned for 16 trouble for years, I thought I deserve something better so I went to a BMW K 1200 LT.. The weirdest bike I ever owned. Two years I could never get used to it. So I went back to a Venture again. Then the yellow Goldwing came up for sale with only 13 K miles. Original owner. I had to buy it because I never had a Goldwing… I will say it is a perfect vehicle, a little crowded compared to a Venture, but it is the smoothest vehicle on the face of the Earth, it feels lighter than it is, great brakes, don’t push the four-way flasher button, ever.. I tried to fall in love with that Goldwing for two years. But I ended up going back to my third Venture which I currently own here in 2024. It’s the subject of many of my KZbin videos. But I have that comparison video on my channel. In the last time I looked, it has over 72,000 views, if you care to see it. I always worried about my motorcycles if I would get caught in a hail storm, because I have seen dents all over cars that got caught in big hail.. I was driving my little fiberglass SAAB Sonnet and got caught in a heavy hail storm one day. I thought that Hale was going to crack my car or break my windshield. So I pulled into an open garage , Right into the house of whoever owned the house to protect my car from the hail.. it was out in the country, I don’t even know who lived there, no one ever came out to question me. But I sat in my car inside their garage till the hail storm passed… It takes a lot of nerve doesn’t it?

Not surprised with the lowball trade in offer the dealership gave you. I had the same conversation last month with my local (unnamed) dealership and asked what they would give me as a trade in for my Wing. Best they could do was $4500. The sales manager said the bike market is really soft right now and because of high interest rates, a lot of buyers are holding off with what is considered a ‘luxury’ purchase. Let’s see what happens after the election with the economy. Maybe selling next spring would be a better option. I am taking a waiting attitude as well. But in the meantime, I will enjoy my Wing as much as possible. New tires arriving from WingStuff today.

I just got back from a 2500 mile ride into the smokey mountains. I got caught in a really bad downpour on a steep twisty road. There was nowhere to pull over so I had to keep going. Glad I had brand new tires!

Boy, once that rain hits your helmet, that's when it gets dangerous. Glad your safe.

Start listing your wing in April for $4500. I think it's worth that and I don't think you'll have much trouble getting $4000 for it.

Also check out Voyager Motorcycle kits. You can keep Bumble Bee, just attach the kit. Way less expensive than a trike or another bike

Bless you Mars & thank-you for your videos. I am also a wing rider from the badger state! You keep it real. I've had a little exposure to can-ams, folks recommend the larger engine usually. I hope your plans work out for you!
