You’re a damm fine actor man. You perfectly portray a look of “I just fucked up” with no words.

Tremendous acting here! I knew paul was a good man despite his rough edges. The scene where richard delivers the kid and paul says you don't come home like this gets me every time

We still come home and are treated like freaks. Some of are scars are uglier and aren’t so easy for everyone to see. Sometimes it’s easier to explain a scar to someone then your behavior. People just think in terms of good and bad. There is no such thing as a good person or a bad one. It’s what they do in situations. There humanity when facing death.

That's great character development. Went from hating the guy and calling him a side show freak to at the end saying "you dont come home looking like that" Her dad actually changed his mind about him and that's pretty good character writing considering how their relationship started

The show is very good at capturing just how veterans were treated back then, especially by people of the upper class. There was no glorification of being a soldier. In most peoples eyes it just meant you were born poor.
