People are forgetting these cars are “grocery getters” aimed at working class family’s. The r32 gtr was sports purpose built race car. Designed to win races with an open cheque book at development. If they didn’t win it would be weird. Also you if you check lap times on fastest lap the commodores best times are not far off the 32s actually. Did well considering its a budget mass produced car

For someone so knowledgeable on that ss prototype he sure is clueless about group A. There was 302 made because Group A was coming to an end and that was nothing to do with Holden or Ford. The international Group A ruling was dropped WORLDWIDE. No manufacturer was going to build a new competitive car for a dying class

I have a 2021 trophy in liquid yellow with gloss black wheels, which makes the car look a whole lot better. Also, 17mm spacers all round which adds to the wide stance. Would love to drop it 20mm to get it sat perfect but still got 2 years warranty 😢. Like you say, the paint actually makes cleaning it a pleasure. Biggest gripe is what they did to the 2021 exhaust system here in Europe at least. Some eu6 regulations which meant they added a second Cat, which unfortunately minimises the pops and crackles. It still sounds good, but who doesn't love a lairy over-run! You're lucky the roads in Aus look nice. Trying to drive hard in the uk these days is near on impossible. It's permanently wet, and there's a pot hole or 5 on every corner! If anyone knows the best way to get the exhaust sounding pre 2021, i would love to know?
@PerformanceCarLoungeАй бұрын
Thanks for the input. The car in the video has a stock exhaust but still has all the pops and crackles, so looks like Australia escaped the EU exhaust changes. Hopefully someone will chime in with their experience in improving the exhaust sound.

I'll be honest an R35 GTR is in a price range where you might as well buy a used 911 Turbo right now. Not to mention it needs lots of specialist attention or you need to know exactly what you're doing if you want to work on it yourself. I'm content with my R33 GTR.

@drogenfeldАй бұрын
@ I got a series 1 Vspec. Ain't perfect but none of them are. Realistically the R33 is the ideal car. The R34 is just silly at this point and the R32 besides it's coolness factor is the inferior model to the R33.

@ depends on what you need. Some parts you can have lots of options for or have a big used/new supply for, other parts are really hard to get and super expensive. I paid a big price for the GTR but I just had to fulfil myself that childhood wish. Grew up to be an adult as I watches the prices explode. My plan was to have one of these asap once I turned 18, glad that didn't work because I would have crashed it or killed myself in it.

Bought a new 2014 in Midnight Race Blue. I love this thing even though she spends more time in my barn than on the road. I did purchase the 4 cylinder delete that plugs into the obd port. I like the way your deck lid closes where mine either a door needs to be open or a window needs to be cracked open because it’s so air tight you have to slam it to get it to shut. I’ve got the automatic transmission with the paddle shifters on the steering wheel also. I just turned over 40k miles and I do all my own maintenance. The only problem I have had is that the emergency brake cable. It would not retract to release the caliper so it was dead stuck in my barn thank god. It took me a few days to find out how to go about fixing the thing. I read about owners washing the car and pulling it into the garage and having the emergency brake sticking and they were like just punch the gas and it’ll break loose. No way that was happening and I finally found a guy that knew what he was doing and to fix the problem you have to take off the drivers side rear tire and remove the fender inner liner and on the left side of the wheel well their is a small black box that is the electric brake cable. You have to remove a rubber plug on this box and get a Allen key and stick it in the hole and turn it and this release’s the cable. Thank god I wasn’t out on a date and this happen! Easy to fix but removing the inner liner and a couple other panels would be embarrassing to say the least! Once fixed I pulled the fuse on the electric brake! I had got a brand new Ford F-150 work truck a few of us had gotten these and the first thing I saw was this electric emergency brake and I told my buddy that was the dumbest thing I’d ever seen, he ask why and I told him what if your battery dies, the motor malfunction’s etc,,, well within two weeks I get a call from he asking me if I could pick him up and that his truck was broke down, I ask what happened and he said you were dead right about the emergency brake, it’s stuck like chuck! Enjoy your new ride!

They are fine, but if you watch the video where I take the GTR to Queensland Raceway you can see they struggle a bit for grip and to get the power down. As @wooloongabba suggested, I reckon Michelin PS 4S tyres would perform better. The Pirellis are acceptable for the street.
