@@marybcreative for me yes, however, perform your test cuts. That is the only way to know what will work. If someone is using a thick cutting mat, their settings may be different than someone cutting matless because the blade would be closer to the mat & material, which could affect the settings.

Hi. New to Juliet. If my mat is not sticky on my other cutter I will use painters tape to stick my material to the mat. Can I do this with the Juliet? I realize that tape may mess up paper but I have a work around that I use so it doesn’t rip my paper. Thanks.

@@marybcreative you can try but if the design doesn't cut correctly, the lines don't meet up, or the material moves.... It's not a machine fault that it's not working. Materials should be held down completely when cutting in order for the cut lines to meet and things not to shift or get jammed in the machine.

Using a lite-tac vinyl transfer tape on your cutting mat seems to also help.

@@angelahackwell1838 does it read on regular cardstock? If so, then it's working properly and is most likely the reflection off the shiny material interfering. Think of the camera as looking directly into the sun & trying to see something. That's what the camera sees. You can try things like turning down the lights or covering the marks with a matte tape, but it may take some attempts to see if it will read.

does the white color actually come from the dtv material? so the material is white and will transfer? I do sublimation but have never used this material before and got some freebees to try.

Do you need different blade lengths for different materials? When do you use the red blade vs the blue blade?

@@DaniAlexandria you do need to adjust the blade depth according to the material thickness. I use the 45 degree blade for most materials. Thicker materials can cut with the 60 degree blade, but so far, I've not used it for much.

@@kyrill_ it would not be great at it for several reasons... It would need to be super thin for the clearance of the machine. Less than 3 mm approximately. And the debris created by etching could be damaging to the insides of the machine mechanism if the sawdust or wood pieces got into the bottom roller bar mechanism. If you want to etch or engrave on wood, I'd recommend a laser machine.

Hi, this doesn’t have anything to do with stones, but I was wondering if you would be able to tell me how to keep my vinyl straight when I’m cutting on the Romeo with the vinyl holder in place. My vinyl cuts off of the sides because it does not keep straightin the machine. Thank you for any help that you can possibly give me.

I’m a new user (previously a Cricut user) I found that after adding an offset to text you can “slice” away the center of the offset leaving the outline of the offset and the original text using the ‘stamp’ (the two squares that overlap with a space cut away from the overlap) so there is a 3rd option in Pro

@@amyvoss1976 learning new software does take time. There is lots that can be done in Leonardo Design Studio but it is completely different than Cricut. Comparing the 2 only holds users back and frustrates them more.

How does it cut matless? That’s my biggest need right now. I feel like the roll is never aligned perfect when it cuts with the vinyl roll holder they send you, so I always need to add extra clearance onto my designs but I hate wasting that extra vinyl

@@jenntyau I'm sorry, I don't understand. The vinyl roll holder for Romeo? It simply holds the vinyl so the roll doesn't jump off the table. It doesn't guide the vinyl at all.

Hi, I've tried to calibrate my machine multiple times and follow the advice in this video. However, my machine keeps cutting inaccurately on the left and bottom of my shape (not cutting enough). I've had the machine for almost a year now and never really had to cut geometric shapes until now. Do you have any suggestions?

Start over and use all the defaults. Get a brand new cutting mat that is completely flat and if you are using Juilet, only have 2 rollers on the cutting mat on the very edges of the mat and not on the adhesive. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX6te3mvd6uClbcsi=iesbe0erj5uHXSJJ If you still have issues after following all of that, please contact Siser Support for further assistance. I have never had to calibrate my machines. While you see a lot of people out there suggest it, it is always the last thing we recommend and only if all cuts of every single object on a page are off the same distance. That is when calibration might help.

At the moment it has just been released into the open Beta version and isn't even finalized for full current software release yet. @@javier2173 you can open SVG files in LDS. If you save the file as a SVG from Illustrator, then it can be opened. How it was designed will determine how it opens.

@@ThiagoAlgaves make sure it's still good quality and not old. Then test cut, test cut, test cut. I've cut designs that are mere millimeters or less from Oracal 651 and it's all about the settings.

@ThiagoAlgaves I measure the blade depth next to the material and only have it extended to cut through the top layer. Then my force is generally 9-11. Speed 8-10. And I test cut every single time. It should only cut the top layer and not cut into the backing at all.

Are you using a current version of LDS? Have you tried Intersect in the bottom toolbar - it is a Basic feature a that can subtract things. Make copies of your originals before you start playing with it.

@@dorothyschaller5896 the Play button is the Repeat job, so it will cut out the last completed cut job. My machine was one of the originals when this video was made 2 years ago and had these shapes in it. Always use the test cut button for test cutting. My Romeo is cutting fine but somehow all of a sudden when moving from character to character on my adhesive vinyl it is moving extra slow. It cuts characters at normal speed but moving from character to character it’s really slow? I tried another svg file and same thing? HELP ! :(

Man. I really loved what you showed here, but it's super disappointing that there isn't a fill option yet. I have been wanting to do "handwritten" cards and address labels that use a pen, rather than using a printer. I got it to write clean, but everything is in a wireframe format. If I could just get it to fill in the script, we'd have a total winner.

There is now a fill option - called Line Fill - bottom tool bar click on the Build Contours icon and you should see the Line Fill option. If not, make sure to update your software version on the Siser website.
