The loss of Scottish music. What could’ve been…. Was so glad Postcard re-released both of his albums, and that they stayed well away from a particularly sanctimonious label based in Glasgow.

Still not sure what happened here. One of our best singers. Largely unknown but immense talent. I have tracked down as much as I can mostly through bandcamp digital box set and paying a lot via discogs for some vinyl. Really sad that this homegrown talent is not more successful.

One of the earliest 'Diversity' Video's Way before it was invented, and it became necessary for Folk to be employed to POLICE this on six figure salaries , right in the middle of a ' Cost of Living Crisis' that will not get better for any amount of coming years! dx

This is quintessential Quinn. You know it reminds me of the original title of the Ford Madox Ford novel "The Good Soldier" which was originally to be titled "the Saddest Story" but was deemed "too depressing a title." This was in 1915, as WWI was consuming news reports. I also just learned I share Paul's birthday which is kind of odd.

Scotland in the 80s was stuffed full of spectacular, talented bands. Sad this band didn't get the attention it deserved.

What becomes of one of the most beautiful voices in rock ? I am proud to own the first record of Paul Quinn & the Independent group. His cover of Pale Blue Eyes (The Velvet U.) with Edwyn Collins is brilliant : kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKjGeZusbaqDb9k

Excellent I’ve been trying to remember the name of this Band for weeks now after seeing this video on The Old Grey Whistle Test in the 80’s. I remember been amused at the time by the fact the presenter couldn’t pronounce the name of the band correctly.

Yeh, I was the same, could remember lyrics, but couldn't even find it on those lyric/song searches. It just came to me one day....Funny thing, I remembered her trying to pronounce it, ah, but I think it was on The Tube I saw it !!

Such a brilliant song, brilliantly sung, must have one of the widest mouths in pop.
@robstone97452 жыл бұрын
Big voice needs a big mouth to deliver a great song properly. Yeah I must agree though on the 'mouth width' comment - He would give Steven Tyler a bit of a run for his money' PS Iv'e got the 7" vinyl that both of them could fit it in orally horizontally - Great track
