Delightful hearing music from over a hundred years ago played as they would have heard it then.

I just bought a roll of this for my simplex piano player. I unrolled some of it and watched the music on yours line up with mine! Of course with the limited scale of my instrument it was not exactly the same but I could easily tell what notes were which. Thanks!

Could you tell me how you are able to determine the date from this roll's catalog number? Thank you for sharing all the wonderful music!
@LouisLPlayerPiano
@LouisLPlayerPiano Ай бұрын
Sometimes I have The Music Trade Review monthly catalogs, which I could check for certain titles, but if I can't find it, I would use close numbered rolls and approx the date, otherwise I would base off other brands date of the same song.

I have a medly roll like this one. Its titled "The Girl from Utah". Really a nice one. Probalbly as old as this one. Nice roll that you have as well. I should have included it in my livestream.

Thanks for posting this! I choreographed a line dance to this song and titled it "The Maple Leaf!" It incorporates lots of authentic ragtime steps. You can find it by typing "The Maple Leaf Line Dance by Gregory Huff" into the KZbin search prompt.

What a beautiful, dainty waltz, and I love the piano role! This song was used in the Hitchcock movie "Shadow of a Doubt", one of my favorites, and I never knew it was a real song until now!

A Themodist roll released by Universal?
@LouisLPlayerPiano

This is the Universal Song-Roll series, usually "hand-played", it does have the Themodist accenting along with it, but isn't a Themodist-Metrostyle roll.

I noticed the 65 note roll. The simplex piano player I have plays 65 note, but the rolls specifically say “Simplex Piano Player” on the front. I’m sure the chances are slim, but do you have any?:)
