Im so glad they did the restoration on this place. Mister Tinbbets bankrupted himself in order to build it. It has excellent acoustics due to a lack of amplification equipment. Many opera houses built during the time when this was built burned due to using gas fired lighting. Tibbets used the new fangled electric lighting, and so it did not burn down and we have this gem still. Over the years it has been turned into movie theatre , ice cream shoppe, and i believe even a bowling alley. Today it stands as a theatre, refurbished and used to hold plays. Great clip.

Reading all these comments brings back old memories…. Built one way back in the 70’s. Painted it glossy black. It looked like a military rocket… Took it to Central Park in NYC one afternoon. Used, I believe a D12-3 engines. (approximately 300 ft altitude) Was bringing it back to my launch pad after a flight when a police officer on a scooter came by. The look on his face when he saw me carrying a 4 foot long black Missile was priceless. He asked me what I was going to do with that, and I told him I was going to launch it…. He informed me that I wasn’t….I told him I already had… That got him inquisitive, so I explained how it worked. Now, he wanted to see it fly. Another perfect flight and the officer went on his way… lol Great memory, thanks for getting me to reminisce. 👍🏻😁

Back in the 60s you needed a CAR BATTERY to ignite the engine. Plus, my mother was lukewarm on the hobby from the get-go.

Good flight! I have one in my build pile that comes out as soon as I lose another rocket or two.

When I was a teenager back in the early 70s, I built a Big Bertha, and it might not have been the sexiest rocket that Estes made, but it was the best and most reliable one I ever launched.

I've seen a few of these "Super BB" launches and I really think they are missing the point of the orginal BB. It was overweight and under powered so the display was a slow acceleration and tragetory profile; sort of like a real rocket does. If you jam a big motor in it or one of these oversized models it just launches like a "gun shot." I'm all for performance (ie speed and altitude) but that's not the point of the Big Bertha design.

It's a good thing we don't need prime farmland in Michigan to grow crops. (cue sarcasm) Heck, the state thinks we can have about 200 of these solar power plants across the state.

Fantastic...I built one back in 1976. It was the best rocket Estes ever offered. I bet it flew 50 times. I just loved it. Yours is much better looking. Great job. Great video. Thanks for the memories.

Hello dear, I saw your KZbin channel and realized you are a KZbinr. Very nice video on your channel, I really enjoyed it. Total 84 + subscribers and total 107 + uploaded videos of your channel. As per your channel, I noticed that your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will go viral. If your channel is a little optimized and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow, and monetization of your channel will start. If you give me a chance then I can solve your channel problems and help monetize your channel. thank you
