What is the best way to find out what scanner will work for my city or county,maybe even state. Hard to make a purchase if you don't know if it will pick up frequencies in your location. Any help available. Any website to go to?.using radio reference i don't get my city police.but get some county.

With the recent firmware updates, is there any chance that Uniden releases another flagship in 2025 or 2026? It seems like Uniden thinks the SDR element of the SDS will keep it more versatile for updates.

Can you still use the high end "Trunked DNR" 200 version in a rural area that is mostly the old analog Channels, would like to buy if I went to a Metropolitan area with Trunked systems.

I really appreciate this video, I bought my SDS100 a couple of weeks ago and had been scared to death to touch any of the keys! This video explained everything perfectly. I was able to create a favorite list in no time at all. The Sentinel software really makes it easy. I currently am using the 8GB sd card that came with it, is there any reason to replace it with a higher capacity SD card? Thanks again!

Lucky you don't live in the UK Scanning is completely dead in the UK, The only things you can Listen to are aircraft Which to be honest is very boring, Amateur radio which is even more boring and dead Absolutely no activity on vhf or uhf in my area, CB radio which is also completely dead in my area and the UK, The Marine brands if you live near the coast can be quite interesting, Everything else is(And has been for over 30 years You guys are just catching up) encrypted or digital or both Especially government and government agencies And emergency services, And our railways. Most councils and utilitys like water and sewage use mobile phones now. The only thing what's in the clear is firefighters handhelds to handhelds And nothing else And I'm not going to buy a £900 digital scanner To listen to a few shops and security firms Especially now Whistler has gone bust Just Sold all my radio gear After nearly 40 years Nothing to listen to now And it will be like that in the states eventually

I couldn't agree with you more Jonathan. I bought my 2 SDS 100s and all my antennaes from Scanner Master. Yeah, it's a bit more expensive but, talking to a real live person and having them answer all my questions is definitely worth the $. Thanks for all the useful information and a great show!

Thanks for your video. Talking about the sds100, well I'm in Australia and we had the USDS100. You think your 100 is expensive? Well here the scanner $950, big Battery $140, dmr $70, NXDN $70, waterfall $30, preprogrammed sd_card for my state $50, total $1210 worth every cent but analogue tx not the best, but digital it's unreal. I have it on in the car I do a 100km drive and miss nothing, no external antenna either. One big disappointment is we can't do zip programming it's is certainly built for the US & Canadian market hence the preprogrammed sd_card. I've had it for a year and a half and use it every day.. I think I have covered it all.. 73's.

Hey guy’s I realize this is a older video but I just purchased a BCD436HP and I’m obviously getting more from say a scanner app on my phone but now that it’s 14 years old is it really worth it or is there a different scanner I should buy for the same or similar amount of money because as you know these definitely aren’t cheap. You cannot have multiple zones programmed per knob position. You need to be on 1 zone changeable by the z/c button. The knob positions work by setting talk groups in a single zone. If this makes sense
