I bought this knife new around 1992. I still own it. I like its lightweight plus it easy takes on a very sharp edge. However the edge must honed regular if hard use is frequent. I probably paid about $30 US dollars in 1992. It was my first Kershaw. With the Ken Onion BOA being my second Kershaw to own. Which I still posess.

I am returning this today. Tried it with a Nighthawk Bob Marvel (Commander size). Gun doesn't seem secure. It doesn't seem to sit down in the holster enough for my taste.

Jacob Ishii MK1 is notably easy to see. They actually made them in three calibers. .357 came first. Around 20,000 they made the .44 mag. By the end of the run (30,000/40,000 serial numbers they experimented with a few in .440 cor-bon). Very rare those are. I have an early 20,000 MK1 in my Desert Eagle collection. Other tell-tale attributes, most notably NO caliber marking on the front left side of the bbl commonly seen on the later MK7 and MK19. Smaller safety (rear drop shaped) and slide release, as well as milling ti sides of slide near slide grooves. The barrel profile is much skinnier as the pistols are all different sizes depending on caliber whereas in later models they were same for uniformity and caliber conversions. Mine is also a .44 mag. I collect Desert Eagles; I'm not an expert but I know enough to be dangerous 😁

from what I've been told and researched your gun is a MKVII not MK1.The Mk1 is a reference to the first handful produced and imported to the US in the early 90s introductory caliber of 357 only. This was followed up by the 44mag being added.Technicaly the first guns imported were MKVII but there were a couple minor tweaks made before the main first gen production run.I learned this because i have a first run serial number .357 or "MK1"......great gun,enjoy shooting it

never had a problem but contact streamlight there is no bulb so nothing to swap out. Leds are wired right into the bezel.

My friend your video is pointless.This weapon was designed to be a last ditch resort in a self defense scenario to for example stab your attacker in the throat or eye.Who would want to use this to penetrate steel???That is not what it was designed for.

Reading from the Cold Steel catalog and poor lighting do not a interesting video make. Your attempt is good but no one wants to sit and watch you read a catalog in poor lighting when we all can do that. Get some better lighting and a little more space for display and you will probably get more viewers. Not putting you down, just making suggestions, hope you understand.

Why read from a catalog when anyone can do that ? for your next video you might want to invest in a little cheap video lighting, I'm just saying - better luck next time. I have a few of these knives, and all have been stropped and all are sharp as a razor !
