Sounds like it fits a scene cause it was written for one. TOP were fans of Season 1, and for Season 2 one of the music producers felt TOP would be perfect for it. How it works for Arcane is the animators send the music team layouts (basically storyboards, simple animatic) and a temp song to convey the vibe they wanna hit. Then the music team produces a song to hit that vibe, at least a basic version of one, sends it back over to make sure they hit the feelings the animators wanted, repeat if necessary. So for S2, the music team asked TOP if they'd do it, TOP said yes. The team sent over the layouts + temp song to TOP, Tyler wrote this and sent it back, it was perfect and they ran with it.

I'm autistic, so I'm rarely emotionally attached to anything, even more so, if its a fictional show. Only when I was a child ATLA got me and until today (24y), BUT Arcane has touched me 3 years ago with season 1, until last saturday and now even more, then when the show was still running, in a way I've rarely experienced. The way, the series encapsulates and shows these raw and real emotions in such a deeply political rooted conflict and makes you relate emotionally through vialys and the music is absolutely insane. Hats of to Riot Games and Fortiche and all Artists involved.

This, for me, sounds like the next step in Clancy's story. It would be no surprise to any of us that they made this to parallel the show and Clancy storyline. If we get new music next year, especially a whole album, this is the start.
