Have you seen The Problem with Jon Stewart? I don’t think Maher has anything to be bitter about. That show was fucking terrible. Stew beef exited The Daily Show at the top right before the ripest possible time. God gave the comedy world the gift of Donald Trump running for president. Stewart went woke and handpicked his replacement who ended up being a woke disaster. Maher has TDS but Stewart returning to host the daily show for Trump’s victory lap is a terrible closing chapter on a career that was amazing until just 10 years ago.

The top 1% alone hold $45 trillion in wealth. A single-payer healthcare system would reallocate existing costs (already $4 trillion/year), saving us money by cutting out insurance middlemen. Minimum wage increases are back pay for decades of wage stagnation, and studies show they’re absorbed through tiny price changes, not mass layoffs. As for taxes, most Americans wouldn’t pay more-it’s about taxing billionaires fairly (who sometimes pay less than 1% in taxes). And countries with these policies-like Norway and Canada-have higher quality of life than we do. Maybe try facts instead of fear-mongering.

Who would leverage said assets to create new ventures? Who in their right mind would want to keep their business in America? Would it not just be trading one rich for another? The government can't keep it's own debt in order so are these really the people we want taking over private sector jobs? Teach the people financial literacy and how to leverage debt, aquire assets, and spend their funds wisely. Even if you simply taxed the 1% on their capital gains more you would be talking about penny's on the dollar and would not come anywhere close to funding your programs. Europe can afford to give their people free Healthcare because the long arm of the US military has been protecting them for 80 plus years. As well as protecting the vast array of shipping lanes across the globe. Not to mention how much money US interest invest in the RND of those health care products. The rest of the world benefits off of it and saves billions if not trillions. That tangent aside Our intire tax code is built to benefit entrepreneurs so that they can create jobs. Taxing those who create jobs means they create less jobs. Period.
