Is it normal to have oil in that end of the swing arm? Mine has oil coming from the diff shaft. Put new seals in it, and still have oil passing through

I have the very same problem. Mine is stuck in 5th gear. I was going to fire the parts cannon on it, but removed the shift motor and gear sensor. It was extremely clean. I think it's called an angle sensor. Anyway, I went to the honda shop and bought the hand shifter tool. Mine was missing. The shift motor will try to downshift, the handle moves but nothing is taking place inside the motor/transmission. I highly suspect this plate you are talking about. of course it won't start in gear. I did find a work-a-round to start it up. Simply short one of the control wires to ground hit the start button and Walla! it will fire up (in gear) I put a jack under it to lift the rear wheels off the ground. The digital display still reads 5th gear and the speed sensor is working. I get a speed readout. Man, I thank you for this video. I'm going to try and do the plate replacement while still on the bike. If I see damage inside, then I may pull it out of the bike. Thanks Much Man and Cheers from Louisiana.
