I'm not fully understanding the strategy -- there is a lot of single track and everyone is literally running all over each other, but when everyone gets to the wide bit near the start/finish they all maintain their pace and spot. I would expect that during the single track you would relax and simply try to hold pack pace and not give up spots, then when you get to the wide portions, put everything you've got to muster into passing as many people as possible.

Am I seeing things, or do Americans have their seats set higher than Europeans do? It seems like the European racers all seem to sit lower.

bit of bad luck there. seems like you were either getting hung out to dry and swamped or boxed in. 57:51 you got chopped by #7, the eventual winner.

I live in Charleston. Hope you we were good hosts anf enjoyed your time! I love this 1st person footage because, as a resident who knows these roads like the back of my hand, it really helps me to fully appreciate how fast competitive cyclists are 😮

Lockout those forks up hill, you're not getting all your power through the bike, especially when going uphill. You could be losing 10% by doing that. Just try it and you'll notice the difference. Of course you need to have an operating fork downhill. Impressive downhill.

@@Kook___ the course that we ride is actually really gnarly this year. I think people might be running some sections. Hopefully I can put it all together by Thursday 🤞
