yeah,,, but but butt, that seat is the worst. on the stock seat i could only stand about two hours tops. But even in a short period of time the vibration would fuk with my junk. After finally breaking down and getting a Seat Concepts seat I couldn't be happier. What a difference. Made it so much more enjoyable to ride I could ride it all day.

I have the same exhaust and have also done the jet kit and 3x3. When I decelerate I get very loud popping. Its fun at first but now it feels loud and obnoxious. Any idea what might be causing that? I noticed yours does not pop at all.

Great presentation, informative/practical content. Music?👌🏼 I'm into Cafa's n' older Sport bikes but because the Cali streets in my city are like riding on a Cheeto I've been looking at theses bikes to convert it aesthetically to make it my daily. Great vid! Thanks!

Every motorcycle is a compromise. For city, commuting, dirt roads and exploring. I like the Dr-650se, it doesn't do anything great, but it can do everything cheaply. A Drz will win hands down on dirt bike riding, but the longer wheel base and bigger frame of the Dr makes for a better freeway ride.

I wish the DRZ came with the ACT wide ratio gear set by default, and an LED headlight. It'd be a great basic do-everything bike from factory.

The #1 benefit of commuting on a motorcycle is getting to ride twice a day. I was the only guy in my office to start work in a good mood. I loved riding my motorcycle to work.

Man, I wish I had a workable backway path to get to the train station, instead of an hour of the 401 pointing towards T.O. Mornings are now 140+ kph and aggressive. But the idea has enough merit to look into it for next spring. Thanks for sharing.

Never owned a DRZ400. Had a VOR 503SM 20 some years ago and ripped it for about 4 years. Sold it off due to parts availability. I had wanted an XR650R supermoto since the build featured in Performance Bikes magazine shortly after the bike released, so I went with that and have never looked back. The 650R is virtually bulletproof, plus it's lighter and more powerful than the DRZ. The 400/450/500s typically don't have the grunt of big bore thumpers for the highway (the VOR 503 was exceptional), and certainly not the longevity. I had a service customer blow up his brand new KTM 450EXC on the highway with less than 150 miles on the odometer (the guy bought it as a commuter dualsport). I eventually picked up a KTM 950SE for longer rides and have kept the 650 set-up SM for ripping around town, as the 950 is far better for commuting on the highway than the 650R, albeit very tall. That said, imo the best, most verstile, capable, smooth, all-around commuters are multi-cylinder super sports. I demo'd a BMW S1000R as my daily for a month, putting some 1500 miles on it. That's bike is just about as good as it gets for high performance commutes.

I'm running pirelli scorpion trail definitely last great handling. You should really check out a quick throttle. The bike opens up way quicker and you don't need two handfuls of throttle to do it.

Also psa, don’t use a bar riser just sit further up the seat. Bar risers ruin the way the bike steers and they’ll get you into a wreck if you didn’t grow up riding them
@Najsnwjsbdn24 күн бұрын
Only problem is it’s too heavy. R6 has a way gnarlier clutch pull then the drz. If you want a real dirt bike with a plate don’t buy, if you want a dual sport get a drz, it’s the only real one around. Everything else is just a moped with dirt tires or a giant pile of shit adventure/dakar type of bike

My Mutants are cupping in the front after 6000 km - no more dual compound tires for me. I've been on the fence between the Q5 and the Conti SM, and now I'm tempted to try the Conti's first.

I got some questions. I’m thinking about buying a dr650 for daily city commuting and highway on the weekends. On paper, it’s the perfect bike for my situation, but the only thing holding me back is the carburetor. I’ve never owned a carb bike, and I’m having a hard time finding good sources for life with a carbureted daily driver (specifically regarding cold). The winters where I live are long, and I also live by mountains which would be cool to visit on the weekends. My questions are: (1)How long does it take to warm up your bike in the winter, and is it hard to start (electric starter)? (2)Would that be annoying if I only have a 15 min city commute to work? The scenario I’m imagining is running late for work on a cold winter morning and I can’t get it to start, then I have to wait 10 min for my bike to warm up while I’m in a rush. (3)How realistic is that scenario? The speed limit on my city commute is max 30kph, with lots of stop and go. (4)So in this situation, could I still drive it cold if I only stay at around 30kph? (5)Also, how often do you actually have to mess with the carb maintenance and F/A wise? I’m picturing constantly having to tune and retune the carb each time the weather changes slightly. This is a bit of a long shot, but if you, or anyone else, has any experience with any of this, please let me know.

Great video. I've owned both the KTM 640 LC4 SM and the 690 Enduro (with a set of 17" SM wheels). They're both great and might be interesting for you if you want to try something else in the supermoto segment. The 690 is more comfortable and powerful.

«i have zero subscribers at the time that i'm filming this video» - i look at your Subscriber Counter and i read👀: «4,49 mil susbcribers». - Bloody hell!😃From zero to 4 and half thousand in 2 months?😱 CONGRATULATIONS!✌😉 From your price reference i see your gas prices are way cheaper than in European countries. Around here, the only way to make a motorcycle fuel consumption be cheaper than a car's is driving a 125cc bike. Any CC above it, unless it's a Honda motorcycle, you're better served with a car due to all its perks, than a motorcyle which, pragmatically, turns out to be a sort of luxury vehicle if you already have a car.
