Late but, yes there are benefits to Mac OS (Final Cut is a good example) but in terms of price, you are better off with a Mac Studio as it has very similar performance to the Pro (Apple Silicon being ARM based after all). I'd argue for it if you could plug a GPU into the Pro, but you can't do that for reasons Apple only knows.
