I love this version of a beautiful musical piece. Wonderful singer too. Seeing the three children dressed in old fashioned clothing of Bach’s time adds an air of stepping back in time to when Herr Bach walked the streets!

These are the lyrics, first the original German and then a literal English translation. The song is known in English as “Sheep May Safely Graze.” Schafe können sicher weiden Wo ein guter Hirte wacht. Wo Regenten wohl regieren Kann man Ruh' und Friede spüren Und was Länder glücklich macht. Sheep can safely graze where a good shepherd watches over them. Where rulers are ruling well, we may feel peace and rest and what makes countries happy. Hope that helps!

That's sad. This is the first the classical music video l've ever seen and it brings a historical dimension from Bach's time about how children should be safely raised, protected. The children of his day were generally treated horribly; his own childhood attests to time of reckless brutality...

Wybranie organów do tego utworu jest z gruntu błędne a konsekwencje fatalne. Wykonanie z 1713 r. nie miało miejsca w kościele tylko jako muzyka dworska w Jägerhof (dlatego też być może wykonywała tę arię kobieta, co jest niedopuszczalne w wypadku kantat kościelnych). Po co pseudobarokowy klimat i przebieranki? Serwowanie ciemnoty i ckliwych widoczków połączone z uwypuklaniem niewłaściwych akcentów w twórczości J. S. Bacha działają zdecydowanie negatywnie na odbiór całości!

Eine denkbare Idylle, wenn die Kinder zur Zeit nicht damit herausgefordert wären, unsere Gesellschaft der "weißen Männer" zu ertragen. Unsere verantwortlichen Politiker und Industriebosse müssen von KINDERN (!) daran erinnert werden, dass unser Planet möglicherweise dem selbstgemachten Untergang geweiht ist. Na jednym oddechu zobaczyłam ten film, w którym żadne niedoskonałości (wg specjalistów) mi nie przeszkadzają. Pomysł na film i jego poetycka oraz symboliczna interpretacja działa na odbiór Formy i Treści doskonale. Życzę Państwu dalszych filmów z tego cyklu... Świetny początek! Czekam na więcej...
