God, I wish I didn't always skip this intro as a kid. It wasn't until I visited a WWII Memorial in D.C. where I saw this speech inscribed on a wall of the Atlantic section that I finally realized the significance of this speech.

I played this game as a child, & I'm all grown up now. Watching this made me cry. The nostalgia is overwhelming. And damn, I miss when these franchises took themselves seriously.

It is incredible that those men have risked their lives for a better world, and only the video game can make you feel what those men lived through, what they suffered. My deepest respects and condolences to all those who fell and those who remain, your sacrifice will not be in vain.

After all of these many years later, this short introduction still gives me goosebumps and takes me back to my childhood. Sheppard has the perfect voice for this kind of work. He also did a great job reciting the British WW1 poem 'A Rendevous with Death' for a Gears of War 2 trailer.

I was so f***ing pumped to liberate shit as a 10 yr old hearing this when it came out.. As a descentant of those oppressed Europeans, how grateful I am for those young soldiers.. let us not forget those sacrifices, please. I like to believe that those poor souls who died that day knew how well remembered and honoured their sacrifice is to this day.

MoH had one of the BEST OST ever. Composed by Micheal Giacchino who is famous for his work on the Incredibles, Ratitouie, and many other block buster films. EA hired the best in the biz to do it and he delivered.
