@WestNetworksLLCАй бұрын
If you're just using starlink then there might not be a need. However, most people are using peplink because they want multi wan or they want to be able to use our sd-wan. In which case the peplink router is a great addition with better firewall and management than the default starlink router

Excellent video! Not only did I get what I needed to know and how to do it, but you explained what we were doing very well :-) Now that the "Ignore Obstruction Outages" feature is available, are you recommending tighter Health Check settings? For instance, I'm seeing some fairly long outages on the InControl Quality reports but the Starlink WAN is still considered to be "up". I'm wondering if that could be causing some long responses. Thanks again for the great videos!

Very cool. Could someone crafty use an OEM 8K 85" display and stick it on a more traditional curve, say 1200R or 1500R or so? How how is that to do with the driving electronics of a flat unit? Yes, it would take even more firepower from the PC. Already in 4K it would be interesting to say the least. There's a 21:9 super large 4K screen out there, imagine that curved...

Typically the elevator has an rj11 connection so you would just replace the traditional pots line with the pots adapter. When we did our upgrade it was pretty seamless but I can't speak to everybody and every situation we might need to call your elevator company if there's some special did settings or something like that that you might need.

Hes not entirely wrong. There isn't a GPU yet, even the 4090 that can achieve high frame rates vs 1440p. So people just settle for 1440p waiting for the 5090 and hoping it can get well over 150hz
@raukoringАй бұрын
@@rkwjunior2298 you are captured by the market, papa jensens scamtracing, razer chair this logitech meta that. You play with your face stuck 20cm from your small screen gaming socks 220hz monitor with trash colours, gamut, brightness, contrast, ppi, panel, calibration, uniformity, bit rate... Ive been gaming on big professional photographers monitors for immersion for almost two decades. All of them have 60hz. I enjoy the visual of all games million times more than you and still can go to COD and be most of the times first on the scoreboard. On one rig I have evga 1080 ti ftw 3. This card together with high quality cpu and mobo is running almost all games maxed on 4K. That is of course without scamtracing and in big cities Im defo not getting stable 60fps. Not long ago I bought one gaming socks 165hz monitor. Of course it has absolute trash specs but it has low latency :D useless and mentioned 165hz. I bought it just for the frequency to finally try that huge difference all kids talk about. And I was really expecting to see and feel a difference. I saw fkn nothing. I didn't expect that..other than crap quality visual I didn't see those extra frames. Back to crisp real quality monitors. And yes all maxed 4K. If by any chance you live in a big city with really big tech store, go in and ask them for the most expensive 8K monitors or tvs to show you which ones they are on the showcase you can see the crispiness and what's real quality and immersion.

@raukoring No, let me hear your thoughts. Im a Sim racer. Majority of racers use 1440 because the GPU gets bottle necked with 4k. People want well over 60 fps.

@@rkwjunior2298 hmmm sim racer. I didn't expect that. I guess for this one you need to go for all the performance above the visuals . Unfortunately. I play them with steering wheel :D the difficulty is so high that I really just enjoy the visual but set AI to easy cuz Im so crap with the wheel and pedals.
@rkwjunior2298Ай бұрын
@raukoring You dont know the sim racing community. Its not teenagers who can afford these rigs. 8k? Nothing can run 8k at decent resolutions. 4k tech is lacking with high frame rates and you want 8k? Hahaha .Display ports and hdmi can barely run over 120hz in 4k. His follow up video was with a 4080 and it never touched 100frames. It was bottlenecked with 1 screen. Haha. He did 3 and itnwas unplayable at under 40 frames.Even 4090 gets bottlenecked. No chance anyone's getting 165hz even with a 4090. Displayport csnt even handle 165. You definitely haven't seen any benchmarking videos. Majority of gamers run 1440p. FACT.

i have 2 x 200mbps WAN load balances via Fortiwan... which model is suitable for replacement of the fortiwan
@WestNetworksLLC3 ай бұрын
for just load balancing you could get something as simple as a B One if you have a small office or as big as an SDX if you have hundreds of users. Routers are scaled based on stateful throughput, bonding throughput, and number of users. Then you would want to think about number of WANs and if you want 1 or more 5G.

Most Wi-Fi mesh solutions, support bridge mode and so basically it treats it like a wireless access point off of your router I know for a fact the orbu products do So a lot of times when I'm running with mesh networks for installs, I'll set up the peplink router as the controller of the network put the mesh in a bridge mode and connect it into the peplink routers lan port that will allow you to extend your wireless network and keep your mesh while having all the benefits of a peplink router

Thank you for this video. I became aware of this device looking for a backup for Starlink to handle the short outages I'm experiencing. My setup is residential. I'm barely in 5G range, and the router needs to be on the first floor, so technically in the ground with even poorer cell reception. Can you recommend an external antenna to use with this unit? Thanks again!
@WestNetworksLLC5 ай бұрын
The most powerful antenna for bad coverage areas in my opinion is the Maritime. 40g I know it sounds crazy, but it's built for boats and is incredibly powerful. You could use extension cables to get the antenna out of your building. It's pretty pricey but it is by far the best antenna. The other option would be the mobility 42g which I recommend over the mobility. 40g if you're in a bad coverage area, it's much less than Maritime. 40g but it depends on your coverage area and if you can get these antennas outside and mounted to your the wall of your building. The other option would be a directional antenna aiming towards a cell tower like the iot 20g and there are other brands that make really good directional antennas.

What is difference between Peplink and Cradlepoint? Do you have any information?
@WestNetworksLLC5 ай бұрын
There are lots of differences mostly in the ecosystem and bonding. Peplink has 18 years of bonding experience making them one of the 4Runners in the technology. Outside of amazing technology, we also have a very robust ecosystem that covers Enterprise infrastructure access points, switches and cellular devices and the cellular vices have one, two, four and up to 12 5G modems creating the most robust, reliable internet possible. Additionally, our in control cloud management platform is incredibly user-friendly and does not require a partner or cradle point to add and remove devices or manage your infrastructure. All of our products are perpetual in licensing, which means they will work forever and you can download firmware forever for the life of the product. If you do not choose to pay for a warrantee for a peplink device, you simply lose access to the cloud management platform, but you can still manage the devices locally, configure them locally and have full use of most of the features and capabilities.

@WestNetworksLLC6 ай бұрын
I evaluate almost every brand and try to be as agnostic as possible when making judgment, that being said, I find them to be absolute jokes of a device. I respect many brands but that particular brand in my opinion is cheap garbage. I respect anyone that wants to use whatever they want to use and don't judge but there is zero chance that I would recommend Mikrotik for any of my customers ever. I take pride in evaluations of different brands and products as well as respecting each product for its capabilities and usefulness. Even though we mostly sell peplink, it's fun to look at other products and see how good they are, as well as where they fit well in certain networks. Mikrotik it's cheap garbage with no Enterprise support and is used for cheap unsupported deployments.

If you had another Pep (say an older Dome) connected to this in Synergy mode, can the SIM Injector also provide SIMs to the synergized device? Also, I don't get why Peplimk hypes the modem speeds when the router throughput is limited to 1Gb/s and constrains them. Same thoughts about the 2.5G LAN port -- it will run out of CPU steam first...
@WestNetworksLLC6 ай бұрын
Yes if you synergized another peplink device to the Dome like an older one, it would become part of the Dome and therefore the Sim injector on the lan would be able to provide it sim cards. It's important for peplink to share interface performance specs, but that is why we have router performance specs as well. That being said, the router performance specs are based on standardized testing, we have seen scenarios where the peplink can perform better or worse than the stated spec under unique situations. I had a customer one time push 900 MB per second over an mbx with speedfusion but it's only stated or rated for 500 megabits per second.
