The thing with Petržalka borough (Engerau in German) is on the other side of the Danube river and the state border is literally hundreds of meters from the blocks of flats. Like there's a Slovak building, a road, a piece of a field and BAM Austria. The Danube used to be the state border, in fact it was a state border for quite some time and a strategic place during the wars. Bratislava was a part of the kIngdom of Hungary. The first bridge of Bratislava (then Pressburg) was opened by Emperor Franz Joseph (in 1889).

It's not for cheese, although it is triggered by cheese. It's competition, the healthy and organised expression of competition. Try bog snorkeling, nettle eating, shin kicking, burning barrel carrying, the Atherton football game. The event is more than it's perceived reason. Why do Americans see injury everywhere, yes there'll be a few minor injuries, it's a sport, an activity. Americans see this and immediately think about concussion... People are resilient, they can do a lot and this is how you test yourself. Drop the pads in your football and experience real sport and activity... Risk is a part of life, the more you avoid it the more you fear it.

because any injury costs a load of money to fix in USA, so they are injury averse

if you want see a superfast car on the German Autobahn then watch a youtube video aboutthat (keywords 'german autobahn bugatti chiron 417kph). you cannot easily introduce unlimited speed to other countries, because its not just a thing of putting a sign, you need certain fitting rules, a culture which got used to that, a better driver license education, a bit more special way to construct such kind of highways etc.

The Eastern Bloc countries were not the Soviet Union. They were all part of the Warsaw Pact, the counter org to NATO. The Eastern Bloc served as a buffer zone to the Soviet Union. You might liken it to Canada for the US, ha ha ha!

Czechoslovakia broke up because of a very simple reason - because it consisted of two nations. And then the explanation could go on and on more deeply. But the basic reason is that the country consisted of two nations of which each of them wanted to be a lord in their land. If you want to go deeper, Slovakia used to be an extension of Moravia, which is the eastern part of Czech republic because the Czech republic consists of Bohemia (Czechia), Moravia, and part of Silesia. But in the past, 1000 years ago, Moravia was more important than Bohemia and Moravia consisted of western part of Slovakia, Czechia wasn't a prat of Moravia at all. Czechia was a different country subjugated by the Bavarians (Germans). So the reason why Slovaks speak a similar language with the Czechs is because the Slovaks used to be a prat of Moravia 1000 years ago. We were one nation. We were much more important than Czechs, we had the first Slavic kingdom while Czechs had just a duchy. A kingdom consists of multiple duchies. Later the kingdom of Moravia freed the Czechs and attached Czechia to Moravia. Also other parts were attached to Moravia, for example Eastern Slovakia, a part of southern Poland, a part of Hungary. When Hungarians appeared in the Carpatian mountains 1000 years ago, they destroyed the Moravian kingdom and took its land and there is Hungary nowadays. Later on, 100 years later from the fall of Moravia, Moravia was split and its eastern part, current Slovakia, was attached to Hungary. The western part of Moravia was saved by the Czechs. The royal crown of the Moravian kingdom passed onto Czechs and Hungarians and Polish. Slovaks suffered thousands years under the oppression of Hungarians in the kingdom of Hungary and were slowly and later rather quickly Hungarianized. Slovaks were almost destroyed and wiped out, eradicated, but some Slovak nationalists and patriots tried hard to save the nation and separate from the Hungarians. Hungarians and Slovaks, that is the same as Jews and Palestinians. Palestinians got smaller and smaller land, fewer rights, etc. The same thing happened to Slovaks, the Hungarian nation grew from the Slovak nation like a cancer at the expanse of the Slovaks. Hungarians inherited the Slovak cultural heritage, kingdom, capital city, wealth, etc. The World War I. was the best way when to break apart from Hungary. Czechs were occupied by the Germans as well. Both, Bohemian kingdom and Slovak area were part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and both needed to set free. The empire was nicknamed as a prison of nations. At the end of WWI, there was no way for the Slovaks to get separated from the Hungarians as there was no capital city, no schools, no offices, no administration. So our patriots got an idea that they would claim that Czechs and Slovaks are the same nation, one Czechoslovak nation, because they understood each other, and therefore they deserve their own state. It was a lie because they were really two nations in two lands separated by natural borders. Anyway, this approach was good because it gave Slovak time to recover from the Hungarian oppression, set the capital city, administration, government, etc. However the position of both republics was different in Czechoslovakia. Slovaks were not treated as the equal, maybe like 95% equal. The capital city of Czechoslovakia was in Czechia. In the first years the Czechs hoped they would Czechize the Slovaks but this approach failed. We loved each other, sometimes we we were greedy at the expense of the other one, like for example all the headquarters for the companies were in Czechia and while Slovaks worked like hell by hands in the factories, the Czechs were enjoying the taxes and higher salaries in the headquarters and they used to praise their "golden Czech hands". This inequality grew and some promises were not fulfilled to Slovaks even after 80 years from establishing, so when Communists fell and so called freedom came, Slovaks declared their constitution and resolution of independence and that was it. The love for their own country for which they had fought for 1000 years was stronger than their friendship with the Czechs. Slovaks wanted to bring back the name of the Slavic land which was the homeland of many Slavic nations but was destroyed by the Hungarians. Because the Slavic land was much older than Czechia. Slovaks had much older history than Czechs who moved to Czechia from this Slavic land sometimes in between 6th - 8th century. The Czechs wanted to get rid of Slovakia because it was poorer and they didn't want to pay for Slovaks. Slovaks were stating that the Slovaks are poorer because of the Czechs having the administration centralized in Czechia.

I think the tape around the guy's arm is from the blood pressure machine, meaning the guy already has heart issues. The guy was talking about his health, being hydrated and nourished but had the blood-pressure tape around his arm.
