The words are taken directly from the book of Numbers chapter 6 in the Bible, and the Bible is God's message to the whole world about who he is, and the good news of the free eternal salvation and reconciliation to him through what Jesus Christ did in his life on earth, death on the Cross, and resurrection 🙏

Beautiful voice! Yet re the Shane lyrics "obedience To the point of death When it made no sense" is just not right. It made perfect sense in God's Plan of salvation, and Christ knew it.

Thank you! Concerning that line, I can see the challenge with the lyrics, but I'm confident that the author meant that it made no sense from a human perspective. Because I can't grasp how vast the love of Christ is, I find it very hard to make sense of why he was willing to go through that seemingly unjust suffering, to save people that don't deserve it. From a songwriting perspective, I think it also serves as a hyperbole to show the depth of his love that is beyond understanding.
