My main racers are from Gaby Vandenabeele and Van Loon strains. Those black birds are cross from a Black eagle and a grizzle. They are tough birds and more of long distance birds. I want to introduce new bloodlines to my loft so that I can improve their performance. Thanks for watching and commenting!

When I raced with my dad through the 1970s and 80s we always stopped the yb when they got to 7th or 8th flight as if the birds dropped the last 2 you never saw them again .
@blancloft8 күн бұрын
Yes, that will impair their flying ability and reduce their chance to escape a bird of prey. I should’ve pulled the 9th and 10th flights as majority of flyers do nowadays. Thanks for commenting!

Great video again Laurence!! Lemme ask you, what sizes are your box perches inside your loft? I don’t want them too big or too small. Yours look just right. Lemme know the sizes and thanks from Canada 🇨🇦!!
@blancloft18 күн бұрын
@@loubozzelli6072 thanks my friend! The inside size is 9”X9”. I made some 12”x12” before, but I think it’s too big. 9x9 is the right size and you can make more perches with the same space. The birds feel comfortable. 10x10 would work too depending on how much room you have in your loft. I’m Canadian too 🇨🇦! I lived in Montreal and Ottawa for five years before moving down to USA.

I lost one of my birds for close to a month. Not while racing but I released it 25 miles out in a park and it never came back with the others. I had since gone back to that park and released a few more times in hopes of finding it again but no luck until my last release a week ish ago and it must’ve seen them cause it came back with them 😂

Awesome move! PETA never sees the good we do for our birds, only thinks we're monsters. I never turned a call or request off in helping a bird in need. Good race buddy, tough but 38 out 40 is awesome. I'm still out 3 birds.
@blancloft22 күн бұрын
Thanks buddy! Yes, we really want to take care of our birds as flyers so that they can fly to their best ability. We are not monsters as PETA see us. On the contrary, we do our best to care for our birds and even stray birds so that they can go back home safely. I endorse your slogan: fly with purpose!
