Perfect as i dropped the 14mm nut trying to mess with my tail lights & needed the bumper off to get it haha. Used a 1/4 inch maximum ratchet & torx sockets to remove without renoving rear wheels!

Screen on dash too big and obscures view and a lot of cars already have large screens sticking up, could not make out the corners of the van and the image looked reversed. Would not want that hanging of the back of my van it looks terrible and if it fell off it could kill someone. No thanks

Hi Joe - thanks for this - I'm going to be doing the same soon - I'm hoping my camera comes with a magnetic stick on pad so I'll just need to worry about the cable - I'll vlog my experience, too.

Thank you. If yous is magnetic, will it magnetise to an Alutec or plastic bodyshell?

@@pentagonstar Ah well - I'm hoping it comes with a sticky metal pad which sticks to the caravan with a powerful magnet in the camera - I've seen some people make those - Haloview have asked me to review it so I'm not sure what it comes with. Before I forget, I noticed right at the end that you had moved your window grippers right up on the Pegasus sticker - I presume that would be a slightly textured surface & so not as smooth as the white AluTech and therefore may drop off????

@Caravanning with the Mrs Yes I moved it slightly up just to get the slightly better viewing angle and the suction mount stays on just as firmly as it did on the white part.

Well presented, I will give this a go asap since my passat is off road atm and needs rear bumper replaced. I like your quip at the end about having a mate to help/take the p. Much appreciated for the video.

Hi! So you installed parking sensors to your car, my question is how did you solve the wiring? Where you stole reversing light power to sensors
@pentagonstar
@pentagonstar 6 жыл бұрын
Olli lyhykäinen ......Yes I took it from the feed to the reversing light

Could you be more specific, I’m installing sensors but cant find any reasonable wires to connect them..Where are those reverse light wires?
@pentagonstar
@pentagonstar 6 жыл бұрын
Olli lyhykäinen .....I did this quite some time back as tou cans see from the date I uploded the video, but from what I can rememeber, I foumd mine behind the trim panel to the left hand side of the boot, approx. 30cm or so from the light cluster. I had to splice into the loom and find which wire actually fed the reversing light, but suggest you use an electrical tester as I did.

Hello, Thank you very much for video! Through which whole did you squeeze through wires towards the trunk ? I need to connect it to the reverse light wires... Thanks
@pentagonstar

+hak0812 Hi, behind the bumper I found a plastic grommet in the metal bodywork leading through to the boot/trunk which I was able to make a small hole for the wires to pass through.

+JC C Hi, I tried to dissamble the bumper and the screw holding the light broke. I stoped as i do not want more damage... Is it possible just to tako off this lower plastic part on the bumper and put parking sensor there ? In that case I do not have to dissamble whole bumper...

+hak0812 Hi, I'm not really sure as they would not normally be installed there, but as I've said previously, I'm no mechanic or expert; just someone who attempts his own car repairs.

Thanks, this is perfect. I just got 1 question: When removing the bumper, what to do about the park-sensors? I have 4 sensors, and I'm worried about the cables..
@pentagonstar
@pentagonstar 9 жыл бұрын
+Steinar Angel Hah, that's a good question, that unfortunately I cannot answer as the reason for removing the bumper in the first place was to actually install an aftermarket parking sensor kit. I can only assume that if your existing/oroginal sensor kit is anything like my aftermarket one, that the sensors themselves should have some sort of bracket on the back holding them in place and therefore you should be able to pop them out by loosening the bracket, but this is purely an assumption as I not a car mechanic and my knowledge therefore, quite limited. On the other hand there must be a KZbin video somewhere showing how to remove the standard/original sensors.
