I think we can all agree that this is the only 16-bit version with decent music.

A bit strange that it doesnt work with ordinary STs equipped with blitter. I guess its about expanded color pallete

Best racing game ever for the STE by far. Scrolling is super smooth too

Absolutely amazing game, this is what an STE can do. Jonathan Thomas is the guy who made also the Lotus Esprit STE edition, and Pole Position conversion.

Wouah. 😅

Nice to see an STE-caliber game. There were so few during its heyday

WARLOCK'S QUEST may be a little bit complicated 😹, but it is a brilliant game 😺👍🕹️. I still have it on a tape (loose) for my Commodore 64 😺👍🕹️. Still gotta find the Amiga version 😹. The Atari ST version of this game looks magnificent 😺👍🕹️. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

Yeah by the 1990, they really learned how to use ST graphics and propel it this level.

"I know, you're gonna dig this." As i remember correctly, it was used on the Amiga version of this game. When i saw the add of this game on many of the Amiga game magazines, such as THE ONE FOR AMIGA and AMIGA ACTION, as a young little boy back in the early 1990's, i thought, it might look cool. Now, that i saw the Atari ST version of this game, i think, i want to still give a try 😺👍🕹️. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

Scrolling as you mentioned is a big issue here. Same for Total Recall which is a shame because Ocean had a near perfect game engine for these type of games in Batman The Movie.

call me crazy but I like the game. good effort from Ocean.

I’m agree with you, with a better scrolling it could’ve been a good game. Good graphics, music and level design, but it needs a better playability with a smooth scroll.

THE KING OF ALL THE SOCCER GAMES RETROS BACK - WITH ITS SENSIBLE CLASSIC GAME 😺👍🕹️! Me, my older brother, and our friends played this and SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER on our Amiga 500 and my friend's Amiga 1200 back in the 1990's 😺👍🕹️. The Atari ST version of SENSIBLE SOCCER looks and sounds absolutely retrospectively brilliant 😺👍🕹️. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

No special STe features? By your title I thought of a comparison between ST / STe...
@hundgirridchannel28 күн бұрын
The title indicates that the game can run on both st and ste. If a game takes advantage of ste hardware I write it in the description. If a game runs only on st or ste I write it in the title.

@@hundgirridchannel It seems the same disk run also on Amiga.

Un super jeu. Le même moteur que Moktar (Titus the Fox). On retrouve le même gameplay.
@JoanOrfilaАй бұрын
I played it a lot back in the day. Recently, last week, I recovered the game to give it another chance, because I really hate that horrible scrolling, it ruins a good game (other versions have an excellent smooth scrolling 😢). It’s the same case than Titus the Fox and another Titus games: good graphics and level design, but with bad scrolling and playability. Anyway, I have to say that I enjoyed playing the whole 1st level, not too bad, it’s even fun, and I achieved the 2nd level for 1st time!

My dad bought this as one of our first game for the ST along with SunDog and the Phantasie I I didn't know wth I was doing in this game, but had a lot of fun, including entering structures to (I think) refuel and rearm. Thanks for the nostalgia trip... I miss the eighties so much.

To anyone saying the framerate isn't good, this is a lot better than 99% of racing games on the ST or Amiga. It is VERY smooth for the time period.

i don't know how anyone played that game and thought it was good. it's hard to believe it was 1992, because there where better playable grand prix games in the local arcades near 10 years earlier. the framerate was so low then, this game i'm guessing didn't receive much funding. see how much it's improved to today with the likes of forza motorsport or grand turismo on ps5

I remember playing demo version from ST Format after purchasing Vroom. For me it couldn't compete, even if graphics are nicer. It has lot of depth and I like the chip tune very much. Sadly the game engine wasn't good enough after playing Vroom. But they really tried hard. Seeing this in 1989 would have been stunning.
@fradd182Ай бұрын
Sprite scaling is so good here, almost feels as the real 3D. Its fast also.
@JoanOrfilaАй бұрын
I think it’s a nice game, it has good graphics and speed sense, Gremlin were experts on it, but it wants to be the new Vroom, and it’s not the same.

The music 🎵🎶 sounds promising, but the gameplay 🕹️ seems kinda hard. I had this Arcade conversion for my Commodore 64 on a tape in the early 2010's. The graphics on the Atari ST look cool. Sometimes, when i play the games on my Commodore 64 and Amiga 500, i always ask myself: "Why are so many games so difficult 😹?"
@CFalcon030Ай бұрын
To artificially extend playtime. Imagine paying the equivalent of 50€ or more to only play 20 minutes of content.

The Action Game of CLIVE BARKER'S NIGHTBREED is OK. I had it for my Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 back in the 2010's. I recommend mostly THE INTERACTIVE MOVIE of this game, because it gives me the retrospective vibes of the Cinemaware games. The Atari ST version of this game has the same ports of the graphics and sound as on the Amiga. A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
