Got one of these back in 2022 in red. It’s been modified with a fender single noiseless pickup in the neck. I’ve added a string tree for the D and G string cuz stability was bad. I painted on it with nail polish and had the input jack has been replaced because the one it came with was literally broken when I got it, had to be fixed twice and the jack was replaced. Still plays well and is currently my workhorse because my other guitars are either broken or too fragile

This December I'll have knocked this guitar around for 20 years, and it's surprising how well it's held up and still sounds pretty darn awesome.

Is it possible to use a bow on this bass?

It's pretty difficult to impossible unfortunately. It uses a standard electric bass style bridge, so there really isn't any radius to the neck/strings to get at with a bow.

I got this instrument as a Christmas present in 1971, 1972 or 1973. Played the white off the keys. Thank you for the memories.

Thank you so much for posting this. I bought that same model a year and a half ago and really love it. You did the audio on here really good to be able to hear the bass' tonal qualities to come through.

Posted a video of this very bass a few weeks ago, so still alive and kicking! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqepeYWneM6incUsi=lo9OaaN39SVPU1Jr They hold up alright. I never took it to gigs so I don’t know how it’d hold up on the road, but I haven’t had any hardware issues with it really. Just basic maintenance has kept it playing fine for all the time I’ve owned it.

Nice mods! I have the same bass in the darker blue and with Ebonol fretboard instead. I've modded mine as well, Tusq saddles/nut, single volume, blend pot, tone, phase toggle. Replaced the J pup with Carvin, but DiMarzio pickups planned for both eventually.

you can run any 4pin cb radio mic on those cobra's like road king or workman you can put a power mic.
