I GOT TWO OF THESE FOR $50.00. They both looked new. I rented a trailer and got them home. One has no deck ? Both needs batteries. The one with the deck keeps throwing the belt off the pulley. Can someone please invent a belt that can be a straight line and can be threaded through all the pulleys. Then clipped, bolted, or velcrode in place. Thereby eliminating all this nightmarish disassembly ! Please let me know, you will be a hero many times over ! Get to work on it now ! PLEASE! Now I know why they were so cheap !

Thank you! Thank you! For this video. I agree whole heartedly that this design is horrible. So I managed to get new belt installed. I still have an issue with it slipping off the transmission pulley under driver seat. Tested before I reattached mowing deck. So frustrated. The belt slips underneath the white fan blades under the pulley????? Any tips?

Love this video! I just took the belt off and will be putting a new one on there when I get it, hopefully this weekend. Your video made it about a 1.5 hour job to get it off (had issues with that stupid clip that holds the steering column in place). The mower got slower and slower and eventually just wouldn't move/go up a hill. The belt felt VERY stretched and was loose and floppy so I hope this was the issue.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO remove the steering stem, lift it real high or disassemble the gears . Just remove the steering wheel and circlip, put the nut back on to keep the shaft from dropping all the way out . Remove the 4 bolts on the bracket and let the bracket drop enough to lift the sides of the belt over the sides of the bracket instead of over the top of the shaft. 😅
@TheDillio187 Жыл бұрын
the gear on mine was pressed onto the steering stem. You couldn't remove it.
@skrekk7536 Жыл бұрын
@@TheDillio187 The circlip that you remove is at the top of the shaft underneath the steering wheel cover. So the entire shaft, gear and bracket assembly can then lower about 1/2" and give you enough clearance to get the belt inside the bracket.

I had the same issue. What a dumb design for sure. The video I made of it is titled "Snapper lt200 drive belt replacement". I could not find a video of this as well. I just stumbled on this one of yours. The rest of the Snapper is great to work on but to change this belt is more work than it should ever be. I also had some comments saying how it should be done but none had any video showing what they were explaining, plus some were just wrong. That frozen pulley is what probably wore out the belt. Stay well, Joe Z

Did you get rid of them without any of them getting into the house?
@TheDillio187 Жыл бұрын
most of them went back up the chimney when they matured, and I have since added hardware cloth mesh to my chimney cap to keep them out. A few of them died in the fireplace, so when fall came, they were consumed in a funeral pyre that helped heat the house.

NOT the fault of Tuffshed! Normally, I don't see in they're favor but they don't pick the area to build the shed. You added a lot of weight when you finished the shed and you didn't even bother to install gutters. The floor sank until there was no space under it for ventilation .. I'm guessing there is a ton of black mold in the walls and the floor. I'd gut it and move it to higher ground ! Let it air out, install gutters and start over .. DON'T destroy it. It's still salvageable ... I built sheds for 10 years so I know little of what I say.. Sry, this had to happen brother. Better luck:)
@TheDillio1872 жыл бұрын
I don't think I can move it. I've tried to take as much weight out as I could and move it, but the galvanized frame underneath of it buckled as soon as I started to lift it. Prior to this video being shot, it did have a porch on the front of it, so all of the water on the front was moved 12 feet away from the foundation. I removed the porch to salvage the material. The fact is they set the entire building right on the ground on one side, and onto a 3"x8" brick laid flat on the other two corners. It never had a chance :(

Had the loose steering issue on my 5 year old Regent. Couldn’t find any info on my model. But after looking at fixes for other manufacturers, thought this would be similar fix. WRONG, no easy way. Considering the steering rack, the belt, the wire, the pto. What a dumb design. Wish I saw your video first. Thanks.
@bmb381192 жыл бұрын
I just did this job and it wasn't easy because I made a few mistakes by doing some things I didn't have to do. I removed the steering wheel (nut and keeper ring) and hosted the front end. Wiggled a front tire and the steering stem fell out. No need to take the rack and pinion and everything associated with it out. Battery does not need to come out. The biggest problem was that I had to cut the wires to the PTO to get the belt off because there was no quick connect. Have not finished and may add one for next time Tip: while you are doing this check your tension pulleys, one of mine was worn so while I had everything apart I took them off and replaced them.

Can you take the electronic clutch off and support it so you don't have to unplug the connector to get the belt on the front? And will the steering shaft pull out through the bottom without taking off anything else? Thanks.
@TheDillio1872 жыл бұрын
I didn't try. I didn't see any way to just take off the clutch, it seemed pressed onto the output shaft. No on the steering shaft, you at least have to take the wheel off. It might just drop out of there, then. It's been some time now and I don't recall for sure.
@bome46912 жыл бұрын
@@TheDillio187 Thanks for responding. I ended up hoisting the front end so the tractor was vertical. My steering wheel came off fairly easily and just pulled steering shaft out without removing anything else underneath. The clutch has a bolt to remove on the bottom and the clutch also came off easily. I just tied it to the brake pedal with wire so I could get the belt on the front pulley. It was finished in half-hour or less thanks to some of your info in the video. Hoisting the front end made a big difference also, but still a ridiculous design for belt placement.
