That's not normal, they usually have some aluminum plate thermal padded to the chips. Or this is just another case of USB flash converted to SATA ?

When you opened it up, was there "thermal pad" in there? I just heard, a thermal pad Should be in an SSD, but not all have them....?

Hi. No after lifting the arm and shaking it, it come off quite easily. If it is stuck because of rust, I suggest buying Wiper Arm Removal tool. They are around 4$ on eBay or check your local store.
